How about SwiftVet supporters holding a demonstration in every town that has a tv station on the same day at the same time. No ranting and raving about Kerry the liar, just hold up the book cover and ask people to read it. Maybe hand out a chapter for free (like the one on the web).

If we could hit 50, 100 or 200 cities the national media would have a tough time ignoring it ... and the local guys will cover it if we push them ...

Ideally we could demonstrate in front of the local Kerry campaign headquarters ...

I would suggest the following plan:

1) Pick a date ...
2) Have one volunteer from each city file the appropriate paperwork for a permit (most places require one if you don't want to get arrested)
3) Have one spokesman for each location (no random protestor being interviewed) with good talking points. Everyone else just give name, rank, serial number and Say Read the Book !!!
4) Publish when and where so others can attend (only publish on this site to keep out the trolls)
5) Meet prior to the protest to ensure everyone gets the story right ...

This would be different from going after Kerry at his campaign stops, which should continue. (you may not even get covered by the media, they'll be there to cover Kerry not us). We have to hit him at every chance we get, don't give him the chance to breathe. Then BANG, one day he gets hit everywhere, kind of like a TET offensive (except this one will work).

As is the tradition in the NAVY (Never Again Volunteer Yourself) I am willing to volunteer to file papers for New York City.

and if we make it the same time as a Kerry/Edwards appearance would be great.

I encourage all to support any and all of the previously planned events. My fear is that 1 rally in one city can get spiked by the national and local media (look at the pro-war rallies that were never covered in NYC) ...

But 1 rally in 50 cities (and not just in battleground states) will be hard for the press to ignore. I assume the national TV guys will spike it, but 50 local news stations (especially Fox affiliates ...) need to fill air time ... and 50 cities newspapers (100+) will write some columns on it, which leads to more articles on the web ... with more links on Yahoo and Google ...

Even if the demonstrations are symbolic (i.e. not alot of people) they can be effective in gathering coverage. And rational folks appearing on TV will go along way to discrediting the "Lying Liars !!!" bunch out there.
