Usual argument about the ads today -- (not as bad as Kasich show)
Meeks said all military people find the SwiftVet ad "inappropriate" --
Kerry said moveon ad was "inappropriate."
Long talk about who should apologize to whom on each side about "these ads" -- Goodness! --
Guess there is a hinge connecting SBVFT to Moveon in the minds of our media gurus..... |

of course there is.
they are both 527 groups.
they both have a purpose, this one to stop kerry from being elected by discussing his service in vietnam and his speaking out after.
move on is the opposite of this group, trying to get democrats elected, republicans defeated. |

//sorry Admin, also posted this reply on another thread but should have been here, my mistake//
HEY did you notice the "tactical shift" today best example probably being Susan Estrich on the OReilly program. Namely:
(1) previously when Susan subbed for Alan Colmes she could barely contain herself, trembling with anger about SBVT and firing off insults about smears, vile Republican "hired guns" schemes etc etc etc; not too adult
(2) but today with the "stage prop" of the new Move On anti-GWB ad (his ANG service) it's all condescendingly humorous, tsk--tsk, boys will be boys, BOTH SIDES (big of you Susan) should clean up their act and talk about the real issues instead of all this petty schoolyard fisticuffs stuff, c'mon now Vietnam is ancient history, etc. . . . .
Now I'm no Patton or Eisenhower but I think I see what's going on. Yes! it's the "NHL" strategy!! You assign some goon that can't play a lick (the Move On ad) to provoke the opponent's superstar into a "game misconduct" situation. They lose the superstar and you lose the goon. Good trade!
This is the new DNC strategy. |

on Susan Estrich....
Didn't she also say something like....(paraphrase) It's not like we're worried about this...we're not worried about this....
Methinks she doth protest too much! |

Jeff-
You mean Susan "The Mouth"? I saw that interview with Mr O'Dell If you could call it an interview. The Mouth doesn't interview or guide discussions. She's just an annoying disrupter with a "Bawk, Polly wants a Cracker" voice. I was never so happy to see a liberal on TV as when Alan Colmes came back.
Ps- Sean Hannity deserves extra Kudos for having to endure the Mouth as Alan's guest's host.
I would have jumped off a bridge if I was opposite of her. _________________ Laura~ |

Anyone else find it curious that Kerry condemns an ad prior to it's release, when he supposedly has nothing to do with the group?
Me thinks both the ad and the condemnation were for political expediency, to paint Kerry as the "good guy" once more.
However, when did he ever condemn any other of Moveon.orgs ads or Michael Moore's Farenheit 9/11? _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Errr... they are screaming for Bush to DENOUNCE the ads & ask for the Swifties to stop running them.... you know, basically try to get Bush to infringe upon their freedom of speech... and now the Kerry camp is trying to show us how so much above this "mud slinging" they are by coming out and saying that this new moveon ad is, err how'd they put it... ah yes, "inappropriate". Why, how gracious of them to come right out and say that.... my, my... perhaps I've been wrong about their integrity this whole time.
Now... where's the emoticon for HURLING.... lol. I need to go wash my hands now for even jokingly typing that one out... lol.
It's just such a joke, they want Bush to DEMAND the SBVT to remove their ads when the Kerry camp has not denounced garbage like Moore's "movie". As far as I've heard they can't even muster a condemnation of the latest moveon ad... the best they can do is call it "inappropriate". How pathetic. Oh, and I think I read that it was only after McCain ADVISED the Kerry camp to do so... what tha' heck???
Guess thei tactic of simply going from show to show calling the SBVT liars, and saying how they didn't serve on the same boat, and they are funded by TX repubs is getting old for even them. The new tactic seems to be to divert the real issue of the SBVT charges and turn this into the contest of who should denounce what ad. The Bush camp has already said all they should say about the matter... to extremely paraphrase (since I can't remember exactly..lol) it was something to the affect of:
We have no questions about Kerry's military record, not disputing it, etc. We think that ALL of the 527's should cool it, there are negative ads about both candidates, etc.
The interesting thing to me is that there are not any Bush attack dog surrogates out there pushing the theories of the SBVT. I have not seen nor heard Bush embrace the comments of the SBVT. Why are they trying to get Bush to stop the ads? Would that not be a gross mis-use of his authority???? If the dems are so all-fired up about stopping the mud slinging, then why in the living daylights was Michael (I hate America & George Bush) Moore a prominent guest sitting next to the Carters at the DNC??? Why were the Kerry dogs out in full force today... hmmm conveniently on the same day as the release of the moveon ads.. coincidence??? The best that the official Kerry reply could muster up is that it was "inappropriate". Well, I personally think that weak denounciation of the moveon ad was, well how should I put this... ah yes, inappropriate. lol
Still looking for that hurling emoticon... lol... all of this just turns my stomach daily. The more I learn, the sicker I get... and I don't mean twisted either..lol.
SBVT... Keep on rockin' the boat!!!!!!!!! |

Seriously, how pathetic is this getting??? Bush said practically the same thing Kerry did with respect to the 527 ads. Then the dems go running around saying they have this higher ground because Kerry "denounced" the ad?
Yeah, Kerry REALLY denounced the ad by having his press team set up interviews with 2 people openly objecting to SBVFT & Bush's record. Simply pathetic.
And I dont know about the legality issues exactly, but people have said if a candidate were to request the add to be taken off, then it would break the campaign finance laws themselves. What a sham~
Next, moveon.org will completely remove the ad, and never show it. Claiming to be the "good guy", then in a furious rage demand SBVFT remove theirs...Its coming, just wait!

Bush said exactly the right thing - that he doesn't like any of these groups' ads.
And nickb, as I started to say when I hit the wrong button, above, there have been MANY calls for Bush to pull this ad - as if he has some control over it. Or to call for the end of it.
And then there are the numerous rantings that he should be denouncing, renouncing and condemning this ad.
What he's said so far is exactly right and cannot be construed as "coordination" with any of the 527's involved. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

If kerry wins the election, I hope somebody shoots him in the rear with a fully automatic pellet gun. At least one of his wounds in life would have bled. |

okay, I don't want to be a stick in the mud, but my "doubting thomas" status in my family has me ask this: do y ou have any links as to where kerry asked bush to have the ad removed? |
