Anyone have a copy of yesterday's LA Times articel?
All I'd heard is that they'd said it was "generally supportive" of Kerry.
I guess that means that Kerry was in Vietnam. |

Joe Scaborough and now Pat Buchanon are not eating the dogfood.
Nobody mentioned the internet. It is more powerful than the news media.
Pat is right. The Cambodia lie has put him in the catagory of Al Gore, A big storyteller with no substance!!! |

Note how that one guy said that after the ad came out and MSNBC started covering this story, that now it is starting to gain some strength, but not much. No mention of any public (us!) pressure (or Fox or print media of course) -- seems it was all their idea... sometimes I wonder when I look at all the emails I send out mercilously and tenaciously to all of these programs, and then I multiply them by all of you and others, and wonder what type of pressure it amounts to in the end. What DO their mailboxes look like! (now that would be interesting to see) -
There was a string running thru the program tonite as to "what Kerry can do" to "make this go away" -- someone said, maybe it was Pat, that there is nothing he can do about this (wise man). Joe concluded that maybe if Kerry came out and apologized to the Vietnam Vets for what he did after the war when he was a young man that he would be forgiven and we could just go on from there and get back to the present and move forward from Vietnam. ...Joe has more to learn about this story it seems....
In focussing on what Kerry can do about this, they leave out of the discussion the mission of the SBVFT -- which we all understand very well. I don't think they will call off the mission if they are given an apology. Geez. Can you imagine?
Kerry: "Hey guys, well, I've been thinking and thinking and searching my innermost soul and I've come to the realization that I acted dishonorably and insensitively and I now take back everything I ever said about you. Okay? And everything I did, I take that back, too. All right? Are we all friends again?"
SBVFT: "Oh, hey, that's all we wanted to know. Now we feel better. We'll all go home now."
COME ON!!
Anyway, I'm glad Joe is staying on this and he does well -- I did tell him that there is always a hole in the program when he has people accusing or slandering the Swiftees without a representative from their group on too. |

I must be missing something. I watched Scarborough tonight and Mathews with O Neill. They seem to be dismissing this to me. The only guys I see pushing this story are Hannity and El Rushbo. |

Did you see Joe's long show with O'Neill & Hurley debating? I can't remember when it was, maybe last Friday. Anyway, it was pretty well done. Also, the fact that he continues on with the story is good, even tho tonight was pretty lame compared to the other. Mathews is unspeakable (not to pun).
Brit Hume is doing a great job also, if you can catch his show (coming on here in about 20 min....-Fox) |

Thanks. It's outrageous this is not getting more press. Why do republicans entertain the "you should condemn this ad" stuff when Micheal Moore gets a seat of honor at the democratic convention? |

did anyone catch what was said on scarborough, they were saying that the los angeles times, has disputed several of the stories in the book, and proved them to be lies, they had a big write up about it is there anyone on this site that could get a copy, the way they were talking it must have been yesterday, I think some of the vets should respond, now that the times have said the stories are lies, I got the impression that they are going to ignore the vets |

It's possible the republicans bought into the pre-emptive strike of the dems where they came out screaming over and over after the ad came out that this was all created by Bush or Rove or some rich republican in Texas. They yakked up an assoc with the Pres and the SBVFT -- and after that, if the republicans showed any support, the dems could say, "See?" And the more they can say "see" the more O'Neill's motive is questionned. (or so they think)
I think this is unfortunate - and wish Bush would have at least said that these were free men and had a right to speak their minds -- rather than give the dems the little evil package they concocted by saying all "these 527s should be off the air." I am seeing a little more support from repubs, although they are cagey about it. |

Yes, that is exactly what they want to do and so it goes. However, O'Neill has not launched his phase 2 yet, and I think it is coming soon. There aren't any lies in John's book - let the paper rant!! |
