Answering the WaPo's charges about Thurlow's citation. Cites WaPo's history of condemning Swifts without investigating their story, first.

Eight different people swear that there was no hostile fire after the one mine went off.

Three minutes, tops? He sure should have been given more time.

They said it is Turlow's citation that says "under small enemy fire". Surely Thurlow knew what his citation said when he received it. All O'Neill offered was that there were 8 other people there that say there was no enemy fire. Could the Kerry camp have flasified that citation? Does Turlow have a copy of his citation?

I doubt it. I don't have my commendation citation after 10 years, so I doubt that Thurlow has his after more than thirty. IMHO Kerry is counting on this.

Also, he wouldn't have to falsify anything. All he had to do was file a misleading request up the chain of command. In fact he might have been able to have the citation rewritten years later. I am not sure how he'd manage that, but it is possible.

Look, the citation mentions 5000 meters under enemy fire. I smell a European educated rat.
