This is a torpedo in the keel of John Kerry. Kerry's own diary said
he had not been shot, after receiving the Purple Heart for being
wounded IN COMBAT.

"At least 9 days after Purple Heart,
wrote he had not 'been shot at yet' "

I don't know about y'all but from this old man, I'm fed up with the Harvard lawyer style of parsing ordinary language into something it wasn't intended to mean. Is means is. We means we. And Kerry means to be president even if it means Vietnam vets have to suffer his disdain again.
