Well, I caught the show in the middle - she was there to promote her new book. A few people called in specifically to applaud her for the "way she handled herself" with "that bully" Matthews. Another person hated her and said she didn't the have guts to say "yes" or "no" when Chris was demanding an answer as to whether or not Kerry shot himself -- the guy was all over her and would not let her talk. When he was finally stopped, she said, well you're doing the same thing. Then she calmly explained what she was trying to say, as written in Unfit For Command, with regard to "self-inflicted" wounds.
She had the facts straight - but a few of her responses to quests raised by the NY Times were wrong, and I don't think she should have tried to answer without doing research on this new article.
She took some really nasty calls by people saying how awful the SBVFT are for daring to talk about Kerry, etc, -- and one even said, hey now, we know Chris is reasonable and hard on everybody. If you can't take it, don't go on the show. It was hard to listen thru some of these calls. Sheez - the people are out there, I guess... Glad I don't know them.
I really can't recall much more, but generally, she did excellent answers to the questions and shows she has a grasp on what this is about. She's going around promoting her book -- and now that she's weighed in on this matter, people are also asking her about the Swiftees --- so, she's out there, and pretty good with the message because she quotes from the book! |

Just emailed Hardball show:
I periodically watch Hardball. I watched last night 8/19. I also watched a few nights ago when Chris had Hurley and O'Neill on as guests. Both shows indicate a bias by Chris in favor of John Kerry. Specific example last night Chris kept badgering Malken for an answer he wanted. He kept asking if she was saying that Kerry had intentionally shot himself. She tried to answer but he only wanted yes or no. The answer she was trying to state was that some have made that contention but also she was trying to say that he had wounded himself and not by enemy fire.
Chris Matthews appears not to be interested in finding truth but rather in creating it.
I will watch you other programming but I think I am done with Hardball.
