I know I've seen a scan of the document on the incident in which boat 3 hit the mine (the Kerry rescues Rassman incident) that has 94 as the number rather than 3. I think it was taken from the Kerry web site.

The damage description is obviously for 3.

I don't know whether the document is on this web site or associated with Captain's Quarter or another similar web site, but I know it's out there.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and know the link?

I just read that........it says PC 94, but mentioning the screws, it sounds more like damage to PC 3......am I right?

You got it. The damaged screws seem to describe 3, and if 94 had that kind of damage, it wouldn't have been able to tow 3 back to port.

Hanna,

Here's a link to Bandit's description, which has the link to the damage report. The explanation is probably needed:

Guys,

I was about to ask how the hell mixing up the damage reports for two swiftboats could possibly be accidental or innocent. I was just an Intell puke so what do I know; perhaps some of you navy types could explain it to me?

I dunno You Gotta...but I'm no authority.

It mentions "after-helm inop". I assume, then, there was a forward helm that was operational? I've heard references to the 3 boat saying it "had no screws" or "it lost it's screws". That doesn't seem to be in this damage report.

I'm not confident now that there's any "there" there.

Me#1You#10:

How about "screws curled and chipped"? The report says that.

Need the report on the 3 boat. That's the only thing that would clear this up.

sounds like the boat got in too shallow of water and got aground

that is the only explanation that i know that a wheel would get curled

Again, I'm no authority, but it doesn't seem to me that "screws curled and chipped" would render a boat inoperable. Question for me is IF that IS the 94 damage report, how'd it take that damage? Anyone got the book out there?
