Why isn't the ACLU rushing to the aid of the SwiftVets? I thought that these people were the great defenders of the first amendment and were apolitical.

We have a political party (Democrats) and Presidential canidate (John Kerry) that are attempting to make themselves the universal censors of political speach. It seems that they should drop the suits against Nativity displays and work on something realy important like this.

Could it be that the ACLU only defends free speach that does not offend the supporters of John Kerry?

The ACLU only defends the first amendment when it suits them . For example the ACLU has sued to stop "Choose Life" lincense plates. They probably don't like the fact that Kerry is trying to stop a book but they will hold their tongues because they are left wingers and think overall Kery is what they want.

Good point. Imagine if conservatives were contacting book stores, radio and TV stations.. The outcry would be heard round the world.

(off subject) but I hear they are knocking on doors of Naders petition workers at night and attempting to intimidate them. Nader called them "thug tactics" I believe.
