For those of us who live in the D.C. area, the Washington Post reporter must have had to turn to drink to be forced by the facts to write this article. The reporters must have been working round the clock trying to find a way to totally disprove the book UNFIT FOR COMMAND. So the fact that they had to essentially CONFIRM most of the book, and find NO evidence to definitively support Kerry's story, must have them convulsing over at the Post. Even when the facts are against them, the Post will take the liberal point of view. So if there is any positive news in the Post that goes against the liberal grain, you can double it to come out about where the real truth is.
Also, the original headline was typical. The substance of the article CONFIRMED most of the Swift Boat Vets' story, and asserted John Kerry's side of the story as having no real corroboration, except the after-action report that apparently John Kerry wrote about himself. (Isn't it great to be able to write your own history?)
However, the headline was out-of-synch with the substance of the story. This is typical of the Washington Post. The headline writers are flaming liberals at the Post.
Also when you say "O'Neill's book" I think John O'Neill and Jerry Corsi would want us to remember the hundreds of veterans who all contributed their testimonies of what they saw in Vietnam. This has been a chance to set the record straight on history. Many of these veterans say that John Kerry is single-handedly the main reason why all Vietnam Vets were portrayed as strung-out, dis-sheveled, violent war criminals and baby killers.
John Kerry's 1971 testimony in the Senate set the tone for how Vietnam vets were viewed and treated for the next 20 years.
[To view the above article you will have to register for free with the Post, and give them some demographic detalis for their marketing and advertising purposes. Sometimes I have a faulty memory when it comes to such demographic details when it is purely for the advertising and demographic purposes of a liberal newspaper. I guess I need a better memory.] _________________ Read first chapter of COLD PEACE for free at www.ColdPeace.com |

Thanks for all the links guys, but I'm reading so much that my eyes are starting to bleed. Kerry if you would have just reported what you did without the lies you would have been fine, a hero even. but no, you had to go for it all, now you will have nada. (except for teresa's billions) |

No, man -- keep posting. I enjoyed reading every one of those, even the ones I had read before.
Just so you won't be alone, I like the map/diagram on the WaPost site:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/graphics/swiftboat_082104.html
It shows that Kerry was wounded by the RICE in the BUTT earlier and elsewhere.
Keep on posting your good stuff. _________________ Herb

More detailed analysis (with witty humor) about Kerry's bizarre claims of international conspiracy and intrigue to have illegally been on patrol in Cambodia at the directions of President-elect Nixon (who hadn't been sworn in yet). Written by Jack Kelly, a former Marine and Green Beret and a former deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force in the Reagan administration.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/commentary/20040824-085850-1515r.htm
A sample:
"There is no way to enter Cambodia from the An Thoi patrol area," Mr. Regelin wrote in the Augusta (Ga.) Free Press. "That patrol area started at the coastal fishing village of Ha Tien and ran parallel to the Cambodian border, but there was no way into Cambodia. Any good map will show this to be true."
Also this topic on Kerry's diary is no surprise to readers of this discussion forum, but here's an article where it is getting more and more play:
