Thanks for the heads up.
It'll be interesting how Geraldo will handle the questioning, rhetorically or genuinely.

Geraldo was a Clinton apologist during his presidency, but 9/11 actually changed Geraldo's ideology. He definately shows a much more conservative outlook then he did.

That is very true about Geraldo's position...and his former buddies on the left gave him the cold shoulder after that...will be interesting to see how he handles this....

Geraldo wants all of this "dirty politics" to stop -- slanted, uninformed show. Geraldo NOT engaged not researched on this issue, as far as I see. Allows Bush v Kerry to stand. Does not ask if this is between vets & Kerry ... still in progress --

I really like Van Odell, its very clear hes an honest good man motivated purely by getting the truth out and warning us about the lies and nature of Kerry.

He pretty much wrapped up his show with the conclusion (incl phone interview with Hunt) that it was damned awful to see combat veterans going at each other and calling each other liars. Appears to me he is taking a dismissive and "this should stop" attitude. He needs to be informed about his slanted and dismissive and misleading show ... Cool
Odell again did not mention that Kerry will not release his records. Two good chances today missed. Hopefully we'll see O'Neill this coming week...

Hackworth needs to let people have their freedom of speech. He thinks because they are veterans they should lose it.

I think you meant Hunt here, not Hackworth.

I am surprised at Col. Hunt's take on this, because he knows that honor is everything in the military. To say that this should be left in the past is to deny that basic tenet.

These people do not see one obvious thing that makes this all relevant...we are in a guerilla war again. Kerry lost us the last one with his mouth, so why would anybody want him in command of this one?

By the way, I love Van O'Dell every time I see him on one of these shows. He's plain-spoken, clear and stands his ground.

Just watched it. Geraldo does not get it. Kerry was instrumental in our losing the war. The North Vietnamese knew that they just had to wait for the protesters in the U.S. to get the Americans to pull out. There is a picture of Kerry hanging in their war museum. They played recordings of his Senate testimony to our POWs. He met with the enemy in Paris during the peace negotiations while he was still in the Military. That is treasonous. He advocated our accepting the communists terms.

Also, in the 1990s, when he headed the Senate comittee to look into the POWs he destroyed documentation and knowingly closed the books on hundreds of POWs still alive in Vier Nam. He wanted to normalize relations with Viet Nam. As soon as we did his cousin got a multi billion dollar Real Estate development deal with North Viet Nam. By the way, John McCain was on that committee as well. That means he knew as well. I think this is what McCain is talking about in the latest Kerry ad where he says he was accused of abandoning the vets. Guess what? He did. He abandoned the POWs.

This has been detailed in a long article by Sydney Schanberg (the American reporter in The Killing Fields, no right winger for sure) in the Village Voice (no right wing rag, for sure):

http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0408/schanberg2.php
http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0408/schanberg3.php

Also, the Dems say Bush lied, people died. First, Bush did not lie. It is not in his makeup to lie, as opposed to Kerry, for whom it is not in his makeup to tell the truth. Moe importantly, Kerry lied, millions died. He said that if we pulled out of Viet Nam there would not be a bloodbath. He said this in his 1971 debate with John O'Neil. O'Neil said there woul be a bloodbath. There was a bloodbath. Anywhere from two million to three million people were slaughtered in Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia. But hey, John Kerry was able to launch his political career, so it was worth it, right?

I also just watched Gerald. I have this email ready to send, but it is a bit stronger than what I usually write. Please let me know what you think?

"Geraldo,
I expected more from you! You have not done your homework! Read "Tour of Duty" and "Unfit for Command". Make your own comparisons. I don't know if it was your intention, but you sure gave me the impression that you could care less. Maybe you should go back to covering the Peterson and McGreevy cases. They are so much more interesting and important.
This has nothing to do with George Bush. This is from the SwiftVets and their supporters. Kerry was a ticket puncher. He was in combat by accident. You can find all of this in his own words. Once again he wants to use the military to advance his career. It didn't matter when Kerry was representing Massachusetts. It does matter when he wants to be president!. You may not think this is important, Col Hunt may think it is a disgrace, but to many others, we are proud the SwiftVets have been will to put themselves out in front of this issue.
Sincerely

Vietnam Vet's Wife"

Appreciate you help. I try to write in responce to every show I see, both good and bad. I have also been responding to the newspapers including my own which has basically no coverage.
