Has anyone with the organization considered sponsoring online chats? Message boards are fine, but there can be a considerable time lag in responses. Chats can be hosted offsite on one of the many club sites like yahoo or whatever. People could come in, ask questions and get their answers a lot faster...also relieve the message board of repetitive traffic.
I've done this before for campaigns, and the best way is to start out at a specific time, say Sunday nights at 7pm. Otherwise, you get one or two people popping in at random times, nobody's there and they leave. You get the best kickstart numbers with a set time. Then, as more people get involved, multiple times can be set up to split demand.
In general, if the leaders of swiftvets need help getting some of these web ideas started all they have to do is ask and I'm sure there are hundreds of people who would help. I'd personally be more than willing. Maybe one of our first chats could be about web strategies!
The swiftvets issue has proven to me more than any other that the mainstream biased media is becoming obsolete. The internet has the ability to neutralize their attempts to monopolize information flow. But we must maximize our use of it to maximize our chances of success.
Would someone in contact with the leadership want to run this by them? Could an individual go ahead and set something up and publicize it here? We really need to move as fast as possible to keep one step ahead of the opposition.
