I am in shock! Utter shock! In no way and in no uncertain terms is this man John F. Kerry FIT TO BE PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES!

American citizens NEED to read the whole transcript of his 1971 testimonty before the House Foreign Relations Committee! It reveals so much about who this man is!

If you think you know what was said there, if you think the little excerpts you've read are the WORST.........THINK AGAIN!

PLEASE!! READ THIS AND SHARE WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW!

Also note, this disgusting testimony is on PBS' website under 'Greatest Speeches'!

http://www.pbs.org/greatspeeches/timeline/j_kerry_s.html

Here are only a few bits I pulled so that you get an idea of the URGENCY in people realizing what's in the (pyschotic) head of Kerry!

I would like to say for the record, and also for the men sitting behind me who are also wearing the uniforms and their medals, that my sitting here is really symbolic. I am not here as John Kerry. I am here as one member of a group of 1,000, which is a small representation of a very much larger group of veterans in this country, and were it possible for all of them to sit at this table, they would be here and have the same kind of testimony.

I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that several months ago, in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged, and many very highly decorated, veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia. These were not isolated incidents, but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis, with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command. ....They relived the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made them do.

We who have come here to Washington have come here because we feel we have to be winter soldiers now. We could come back to this country, we could be quiet, we could hold our silence, we could not tell what went on in Vietnam, but we feel, because of what threatens this country, not the reds, but the crimes which we are committing that threaten it, that we have to speak out.

I would like to talk to you a little bit about what the result is of the feelings these men carry with them after coming back from Vietnam. The country doesn't know it yet, but it has created a monster, a monster in the form of millions of men who have been taught to deal and to trade in violence, and who are given the chance to die for the biggest nothing in history; men who have returned with a sense of anger and a sense of betrayal which no one has yet grasped.

As a veteran and one who felt this anger, I would like to talk about it. We are angry because we feel we have been used it the worst fashion by the administration of this country.

In 1970, at West Point, Vice President Agnew said, "some glamorize the criminal misfits of society while our best men die in Asian rice paddies to preserve the freedom which most of those misfits abuse," and this was used as a rallying point for our effort in Vietnam.

But for us, as boys in Asia whom the country was supposed to support, his statement is a terrible distortion from which we can only draw a very deep sense of revulsion. Hence the anger of some of the men who are here in Washington today. It is a distortion because we in no way consider ourselves the best men of this country, because those he calls misfits were standing up for us in a way that nobody else in this country dared to, because so many who have died would have returned to this country to join the misfits in their efforts to ask for an immediate withdrawal from South Vietnam, because so many of those best men have returned as quadriplegics and amputees, and they lie forgotten in Veterans' Administration hospitals in this country which fly the flag which so many have chosen as their own personal symbol. And we cannot consider ourselves America's best men when we are ashamed of and hated what we were called on to do in Southeast Asia.

We saw that many people in this country had a one-sided idea of who was kept free by the flag, and blacks provided the highest percentage of casualties.

We saw America lose her sense of morality as she accepted very coolly a My Lai, and refused to give up the image of American soldiers who hand out chocolate bars and chewing gum.

...and we watched while America placed a cheapness on the lives of orientals.

Now we are told that the men who fought there must watch quietly while American lives are lost so that we can exercise the incredible arrogance of "Vietnamizing" the Vietnamese.

Each day, to facilitate the process by which the United States washes her hands of Vietnam, someone has to give up his life so that the United States doesn't have to admit something that the entire world already knows, so that we can't say that we have made a mistake. Someone has to die so that President Nixon won't be, and these are his words, "the first President to lose a war."

Yes, I agree. C-Span ran the audio a few months back. After that, I read it entirely. Since then, I have asked C-Span over and over to re-run that tape. Maybe more people could ask? They did re-run the Cavett Show and I give them credit for that, but the speech needs to be "revisited," shall we say. Reading it is frightening enough, but when you listen to his flat, unemotional, pompous voice, as he makes all these assertions and lies, it goes in even deeper. He cut us to the quick, our soldiers and our nation.

If you weren't already supporting the SBVT, justamom, I'd say, Welcome over Wink

Many of us have been aware of this "testimony" for some time now and have been encouraging others to read it.

Today, they say he wasn't trashing vets, he was just an angry young man who repeated what he was told by others. Clearly, much was his own words and the speech isn't one an angry young man, but a cold and calculating political opportunist.

I say that since his initial bid for the Senate as an anti-war candidate bombed. After some time, he remerged the war hero.

Even fellow anti-war protestors from that era have today turned their backs on his since he sold them out too. He has no core base and his sole intent is to acquire personal power.

To me, he is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Evil or Very Mad

Hi Lew, actually I've been here and supporting for a while now. Like others I've read about this evening, I spend too much time here too often and nothing else gets done - I end up groc shopping at 4am, have 4 baskets of laundry to fold, etc., etc., etc.

I also spend quite a bit of time on other sites, too. We don't have cable, infact only have a 13" with rabbit ears so I don't see much of the TV.

This man scares me to death.

Reading his testimony from back then AND witnessing his behavior/lies presently - this is stuff deeply embedded in him; he is a very sick individual and he frightens me - him President? God help us all.

I posted a piece a while back that exposed him from early childhood - THIS MAN CANNOT BECOME PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Kerry was referring to 'The Winter Soldier Investigation.'

However, that was a scam.
http://ice.he.net/~freepnet/kerry/

Many of the veterans, though assured that they would not be questioned about atrocities they might have committed personally, refused to be interviewed. One of the active members of the VVAW told investigators that the leadership had directed the entire membership not to cooperate with military authorities. A black Marine who agreed to be interviewed was unable to provide details of the outrages he had described at the hearing, but he called the Vietnam War "one huge atrocity" and "a racist plot." He admitted that the question of atrocities had not occurred to him while he was in Vietnam, and that he had been assisted in the preparation of his testimony by a member of the Nation of Islam. But the most damaging finding consisted of the sworn statements of several veterans, corroborated by witnesses, that they had in fact not attended the hearing in Detroit. One of them had never been to Detroit in all his life. He did not know, he stated, who might have used his name. Incidents similar to some of those described at the VVAW hearing undoubtedly did occur. We know that hamlets were destroyed, prisoners tortured, and corpses mutilated. Yet these incidents either (as in the destruction of hamlets) did not violate the law of war or took place in breach of existing regulations. In either case, they were not, as alleged, part of a "criminal policy." The VVAW's use of fake witnesses and the failure to cooperate with military authorities and to provide crucial details of the incidents further cast serious doubt on the professed desire to serve the causes of justice and humanity. It is more likely that this inquiry, like others earlier and later, had primarily political motives and goals.

Set up and funded by Hanoi Jane - Winter Soldier made John Kerry a dupe.

Yes Kerry is a communist and Yes he might be our CIC. It is beyond belief. We are definately at a cross roads of our country and how sad soo few are even clued into it. It would be nice if some of the younger people would actually get involved with politics. Too few do,

I agree. One of the strongest effects of the new ad is the WAY Kerry is speaking, the way he delivers those remarks. The guy's just not a 'dork'. He's play-acting, under oath, in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, preaching the 'ill news' of host of Kerryisms, frankly. How this guy got as far as he did on Gridley or otherwise in training - that's another question I wonder that people might investigate.

I actually think I heard someone say he wasn't "under oath". There was the suggestion there that that made it okay.

Thank you, Justamom, I am embarrassed to say that I never read the speech in its entirety. Chris Wallace did a good job confronting the "He just repeated what he was told" track, but so far I've seen other host let the DNC talking point stand.

How can anyone read that speech and then say John Kerry did it for the "love" of Vietnam Vets and that he was not actually saying himself that there were atrocities?

In many ways, the attacks of 9/11 opened our eyes to a longstanding, slow deterioration of our republic and brought long-festering issues to the fore.

Ironically, Osama Bin Laden, in trying to destroy our country, may have actually saved it by doing so.

That whole speech of his needs to be run on prime time tv so people can see the real john kerry. He has never denounced that speech he made, so it should be aired nationwide so all voters can see that and then actually have to come to the grips with the fact that if elected, THAT is who will be President, sending our loved ones into conflicts when needed. Especailly since he said he would respond to every attack on America. I'm sorry. I want a President like Bush who will attack those who are planning to attack us BEFORE they pull a 9-11 on us. Not someone like kerry who will sit on his 3 purple hearts and the rice in his ass while thousands of people die and buildings fall to the ground and our economy goes back into the toilet where it was for months after 9-11. With a president kerry we will be nothing more than a nation full of memorials and graveyards. You don't talk to a rabid dog, you grab the biggest gun you can find and you put it down. mr. kerry doesn't understand that anymore than he understand duty, honor, or country, and he has proven that he has not even the losest of grasps on any of those things.

I just don't understand HOW so many people are missing the ideals that are apparently deeply embedded in this man's psyche. He is a frightening individual!

People NEED to educate themselves as to WHO John Kerry really is. They need to read everything they can find on him - not sit back idly and accept what others (with an agenda) are telling them.

If people would investigate what is out there on him for themselves, surely they would see the light.

WHY HOW AND WHEN did Americans become darned lazy and apathetic?

Most people do not really care much about politics and only care about what is affecting them. 20% of this poplulations just HATES President Bush...and to them it is ABB (anyone But Bush). They do not care about his record - either candidate. The goal must be to reach out to those undecides and most people do not pay any attention until it gets closer to the elected and most go to the MSM which we all know is slanted towards Kerry.

Fox News was the only news source that kept asking questions about the swiftvets...the rest of the media figured it would go away. Well they are being proven wrong, but they will try to slant it to their way. The MSM does not report the new anymore - they try to tell you how you should react and think. Most people fall into it and would rather not look AT the issues.

But I am hoping with Senator Dole (I like him) coming out and saying what he did it will get the press to go more towards the middle...we will see.

I find it hilarious, with Kerry's disdain towards the U.S. intervention in Vietnam, that he never ONCE whispered a bad word towards John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the catalyst of the very conflict he condemns.

And if there was ever any question in your mind as to the editorial politics of PBS, please note that this is in their "Great Speeches" section. Rolling Eyes
