Following the Vietnam war countless veterans who sacrificed much and served their country with honor and dignity returned home to be villified as baby killers, murderers, and war criminals. It was the most despicable treatment of veterans in the history of this country. Vietnam veterans were humiliated, insulted, and spat upon. This country reeked of injustice.
And NO ONE was more responsible for this than John Kerry.
And it was for one reason and one reason alone- Kerry's political ambitions. 2.5 million vets were sacrificed for his aspirations.
The argument that he was only relating the experiences of others is irrelevant. He made those experiences his- he could not be bothered to check on the veracity of those experiences and most of them were discredited. He bears the responsibility for the misery he visited upon the Vietnam vets. And NOTHING excuses it.
