Could someone explain to me how Kerry's band of "blunders" keep refering to the fact the he Kerry had two tours of duty in such a short time in VN. Also am I correct in thinking that in a speech Kerry gave a short while ago he said that only 35 men are now know to be left in VN. I would also like to praise all VVets for there service during a very hard time I find it very sad that they were spit on when they came back from VN and are not being spit on again. Why don't all the vets involved in this conflict get together and discuss in live on TV. God Bless You All.

We've had many discussions about this on this board and it is, indeed a sham that he has created "two tours in Vietnam" from what he actually did.

It appears that Kerry is claiming his partial WESTPAC as "a tour in Vietnam" even though the USS Gridley was only operating in support of the Seventh Fleet for a total of five weeks while he was aboard. Here is where he also gets his claim that "I know something about carriers for real."

He also claims his four months as "a tour in Vietnam," which I think no one really quibbles with - except for the fact that NO ONE ELSE in Swifts left before their year's tour was complete except those who were killed or seriously wounded in action.

He spent his first month in training and then in the remaining 3 months, he was assigned to two different COSDIV's - some people have speculated that he is counting these two assignments as his "two tours in Vietnam."
