I've seen a few people on here post personal information. I would like to caution against this.

#1: Put NO personal info out there. This includes your real (last) name, address, phone numbers, or anything else that could give people from the "dark side" anything with which to harass you.

#2: I suggest getting a hotmail or other free email account before registering here. If you have your own domain email, that is helpful, but not necessary. DO NOT use your actual ISP email (re: earthlink.com). While you can override this showing in your profile, should this site get hacked -God forbid- that data would be available and you could experience problems (i.e.: email flooding).

#3: Keep in mind that, at the present time, people do not have to register to see the content of this messageboard (personally, I think this should be changed but that's up to admin). So anything you put on here can be seen by others. Caution in what you put in your messages and signature lines is important.

#4: If you have a personal domain (i.e.: swiftvets.net), and don't care if others see it, fine. But be aware that personal domains can also be hacked. And the hackers (as we know) have been busy trying to harm the purposes of the swifties (re: barnes&noble website, Amazon.com website). SO, if that's a concern, I suggest making a "mirror site" on a free server (ie: geocities, angelfire, etc.). Yes, you will have to put up with ads on the free site (no sense in paying for a mirror) but the chances of being hacked are much less.

Stand up for the Swifties! But I am pretty certain they don't want any of us "cyberly wounded" in the process.
