Very good points.
Van ODell and others say the rescue and recovery operations for PCF 3 lasted almost an hour a half. That about 90 minutes where at least 4 boats are sitting still in the middle of the river.
3.1 miles of VC shooting from the banks my ass.

Are you sure a time followed by Z is Hanoi time? I always thought it meant Zulu or GMT. Other than that, your analysis is great. Was 96B in ASA (your NSG).

Navy Chief:
Excellent! This will probably blow Kerry out of the water more than the mine did!
Kerry's credibility is hinging on the fact that "official" Navy records support some of his claims, but if it can be shown that Kerry himself wrote them, then it's his word against everybody else's, without the Navy imprimatur backing him up.
I could understand your withholding your name in the forum, because you never know who might be reading things on this website (it's possible to read other people's posts without logging in).
But did you sign your name to what you sent to Sean Hannity? He might want to interview you on his show, but most journalists tend to mistrust anonymous tips, but he will trust a known bona fide Navy Chief.
I'm not a veteran, but I salute you, Navy Chief! _________________ The traitor will crater! |

If these boats took all the fire, where are the reports detailing the repairs necessary.
I know that the "snipes" always file reports. _________________

The chief "translated" the Zulu time (Yes, that's GMT) to the "G" time zone (GMT+7), so you could see what time it was in Hanoi (which is where Kerry probably got his watch, after visiting Cambodia)
So, 4:20 PM civilian time in the "Zulu" time zone is "11:20 PM" civilian time in Hanoi. Or, if you are an officer, Mickey's little hand is on the 11, and his big hand is on the 4, and it's dark outside. _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

One item puzzles me, but I'm unclear as to the duty assignments of all the principles involved on 13 Mar 69.
Wasn't LCDR J.W. Streuli still CO/COSDIV13 at the time of the action?
Why would Kerry's AAR be sent thru LCDR Streuli if Kerry was assigned to Coastal 11 at the time?
Was this a joint operation involving Coastal 11 and Coastal 13? |

Yup, ya caint fool a CTC: 131620Z = 132320H {+ or - an hour}
Ahem, so yer a 96B huh? In that line of work, time is important.
I spent a coupla years in Sinop as a civilian. {Time zone "C" GMT+3}
"One hundred men will test today. Nintey-nine make ASA"
Super ComInt Analysis NavyChief. Just hope that "/1" was consistently
used for the 94 boat. That would really be a nail for the coffin in the
"how do you know Kerry sent the spot report" crowd
.
