Fast notes while listening to show:
Pat made a statement that no one has before, "these guys are authentic" --I think he said it more than once. I know we all know that, but it is so nice to actually hear it being said. I know he has supported the SBV's right to speak out for some time, but tonight he talked about the winter soldiers and the meeting in paris and Hubbard as a communist, etc. Really got into it. I never used to like Pat -- but he's really a strong supporter of the SBVs so he has gained my respect. And he's read the book (more than once, and says he gets more angry each time). Says as to Cambodia issue, Kerry has been shown to be a complete fraud. Wants to get Gardner on to talk about the incident.
The other guy (Lawrence O'Donnell) is saying that the indiv. Swift stories are falling apart over last week when subjected to "journalistic standards", and that no addn'l veterans are coming forward against Kerry. Says all the medal stories stand per Kerry. He says SBV have given up on all attack avenues about the awards because they have survived examination, and all they have left is the Cambodia issue. Says Gardner was not present on any incident where Kerry got a medal.
Joe talks about Dole's comments. Lawrence says it is not true that John Kerry never bled, and that all the accusations Dole said were all false and that Dole knows that. He says the critical point is, how can a war protestor run for president and that Kerry has to explain why he was trying to save lives after he came back from the war.
Joe will have Bob Dole on tomorrow night. Lawrence says that Dole will NOT repeat again what he said because he's probably sorry he said it.
Joe said he talked to Gardner, and Gardner said Kerry lied to earn medals (played some video of Gardner saying Kerry lied - said he spent the most time with Kerry in Viet Nam.) Joe asked Lawrence how Gardner can have these opinions when he wasn't there at any of the incidents. Lawrence says, that's what these SwiftVets do... (this lawrence guy ...)
Pat questions the stories about the incidents -- raises good questions. I think he's in this for the long haul! YAY PAT !!!! |

Pat Buchanan made a fine point: "If a water mine went off under Kerry's boat how did he get shrapnel in his butt?"
[The shrapnel, of course, was rice from an incident earlier the same day when Kerry and Rasmussn went ashore and Kerry tossed a grenade into a rice cache. Standing too close, he took flying rice in the butt as he left.]
FLYING RICE!!! For that Kerry gets a purple heart.

... If a guy can write that "the soldiers were running like gazelles" (in another incident) - gazelles, mind you -- then it is possible, in that man's mind, for flying rice to morph into shrapnel, don't ya think?
I don't know, but I'm sure gaining a new respect for RICE and remain on the lookout!! |

I have been very disappointed in Scarborough lately; He seems to be going out of his way to be sympathethic to Kerry while other talk show hosts such as Chris Matthews continue to bully anyone who is pro swift-vets. |

Joe Scarborough's been hanging with the liberals so long he's lost it. He must be under orders from the network to be sympathetic to the democrats or he will lose his job. I think that's it. They are controlling everything he says and does.[/b] _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

Unfit For Command, pp. 32-34.
"They sprang for cover like a herd of panicked gazelles Kerry had once seen on TV's 'Wild Kingdom'."
"...the vision of the men running like gazelles haunted me."
NO KIDDING !! Days later, I'm STILL trying to visualize this..... |

I was reading through one of the spot reports (please don't ask which one), and it read like greased fiction.
Wording like "smartly turned", "snapped to", etc. It honestly made me queasy getting through the parts written by the particular author.
I had to think it was kerry... _________________ said Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe. "It is inexcusable to mock service and sacrifice."
well, when even the DNC can see it,,,,, then kerry is toast. |

He certainly has a "style" all his own, one could say -- I'm starting to recognize his writing from a mile off -- it has a contrived fictional flavor and just reeks with metaphors & adjectives. Cartoonish actually... unmistakable, one would think (like a thumbprint...) |
