In his final segment tonight, Joe Scarborough had Merrie Spaeth on.
She is from Texas, and is the media consultant for the SBVFT group.

She very quickly dispensed with the viscious SMEARS about her
coming from the Kerry attack dogs:

o She had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the McCain incident
She pointed out that this was acknowledged as coming from a New Yorker

o Her name was mentioned on the White House FELLOWS recipient
web site, not on the official White House web site as the Kerry campaign
and their surrogates have charged. ie She received an award for her work
as a profesional media consultant. Unrelated to the Bush White House.

o She pointed out that the Texas Lt. Governor in Texas is elected completely
separate from the Governor. When her husband ran for that office, George
Bush backed his opposition: Democrat and incumbant Bob Bullock for that post.

In other words there is NO connection between her and George Bush

She made these points forcefully yet with a great deal of grace. No anger,
just incredulous that these eastern hacks could have such lack of knowledge
as to make these outrageous accusations and that no one has followed up.

I wish I had not deleted an email from one of the attendees at the Washington
get together of Swift Boat sailors this past week. The respect, admiration and
feelings of association with this fine person expressed by the "hardened sailors"
for her was absolutely touching. She has been an inspiration to the SBVFT folks.

And her media advice to the Swifties: Simply tell the truth

What I'm wondering has even one of the leftist media said, "Yes, I read the book completely and I find nothing compelling in it to disbelieve Kerry?"

Merrie Spaeth is VERY impressive and truly a class act, the Swiftees are lucky to have her and she said she felt honored to know them.There is absolutely no comparison between Spaeth and the hacks working for the Kerry campaign.
