Comment from a a compleat ignoramus... Apologies for a 'slightly bummer' message...
I appreciate Swifties contribution to voter education (have donated to help distribute the story).
Never served (1-Y draft classification). Was anti-Vietnam-War, but not anti-veteran. Though I was anti-war in the 70's, thought Kerry was a weasel back then, and recent evidence has not changed my mind.
The disaffected folks I know, don't seem disturbed by evidence that Kerry 'embellished' his record. "Politicians Lie, what else is new?"
A Vietnam Vet friend says, "I haven't voted for years, because no matter who I vote for, nothing improves. Maybe Kerry lied. So what? Politicians are all lying SOB's."
Maybe my friends are unique, but wonder whether exposing Kerry's character faults will make any difference? Guess it doesn't matter much. 'Pearls before swine'.
Can't think of an alternate tack to break thru cynicism. Perhaps a more creative thinker can offer solutions. |

Bright you are. So, run for office, vote your heart or start the revolution. Oh, that's right, like the rest of us you're against war. Ergo, assuming that dropping out solves nothing, you have only two options. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |
