Veterans to rally in Fayetteville for Kerry

By Don Worthington
Staff writer

Organizers of Saturday's rally for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry say they hope the event helps settle the controversy over Kerry's Vietnam war service.

"Veterans are tired of the veteran-against-veteran attacks," said Richard Basile of North Carolina Veterans for Kerry. "This rally should put an end to it."
rest of story

I think this is an opportunity.... but not to end it, to confront them.

LOL @ "an end to it." Very Happy

The end to it will only happen when Kerry loses the election and our Armed Forces are not in any danger of having him as their CinC.

You'll just be confronting a dozen sycophants and a 3000 member bused-in union rent-a-crowd.

They will say, see vets aren't mad at Kerry, they love him. If there's no counter to that, it wins the PR. They need a Swift response. Wink

petition, letters, something....

At least he should be asked about the so-called assault weapons ban expiring without a peep out of liberals who fought so hard for it.

It only takes a handful of polite, nicely dressed people with well-made signs to make a counter-statement. You don't have to equal their numbers.

Can you make signs? There's an excellent tutorial on www.protestwarrior.com Make sure that the signs are readable at a distance and that the lettering is either printed on your computer or laid out with rulers so that the sentiment doesn't run off the side of the sign.

Can you gather a few people with you to stand with a flag and some anti-Kerry signs?

The POW flag would be good, too, considering Kerry's sellout of the POW's in his Senatorial career.

Are you up on the issues? Can you act as a spokesman when the media interviews you? Choose the most articulate and concise speaker to speak for you while the rest of you clap and cheer for the spokesman.

You should have videocameras with you, too, to document the happenings.

Good luck!

Veterans my eye - just like all the protestors at march on Washington in 1971 were all veterans.

I hope we see a day when protestors will have to submit their names as a requirement to receive a permit. So a validity check could be performed - no never mind - these people are masters at identity theft.

These people are a piece of work!

In this election, all you have to do is just don't support the one that the militant radicals are for.

Somebody should tip off Bob Dole to this one!

He's a REAL injured veteran, has spoken out against Kerry before, and his wife is the "other" Senator from NC!
