STAR TRIBUNE -8/25/04:
Health care costs will be the focus of John Kerry's town hall meeting in Anoka when the Democratic presidential candidate stops by Thursday morning.
The Kerry campaign said the Massachusetts senator will talk about his proposals to expand access to health insurance and make it more affordable. Kerry's forum will be held at the Anoka Hennepin Technical College.
He expects to arrive in Minnesota Wednesday evening, but the Anoka event is his only scheduled public appearance. |

I think one thing is quite telling of Sen. Kerry. Both times I have seen him give a speech recently (on TV), he was at least an hour late. Both in Cincinnati at the VFW and yesterday in Manhattan. Both times extremely late, people sitting around. I think promptness is VERY important. If he cant even be on time to do something promoting himself, how the heck is he going to be competant as a leader? |

Kerry has made a point of saying that most of MN vets are backing him -- I hope you'll be able to greet him with a sign that indicates otherwise -- and/or be able to ask him a hard question in the meeting -- maybe someone could bring a Form 180 for his convenience, so he could release all his records, or at least, explain why not. There is no visible support for the SBV in this state that I have seen -- I hope some of you can come forward. Here's hoping you get to greet & speak to the war hero.... |

He is supposed to show up at 1000 hrs, the time most WORKING people cannot show up. I'm sure he is using the same bussed in "vets" as wellstone used. _________________ US Army 1987-current

I wonder why he picked Anoka?? Could it be that Anoka is a very old town with lots of old time democrats sitting right in the middle of many new and growing suburbs that are mainly younger and more conservative thinkers? |

SEN. JOHN KERRY (D-MA), PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE: "All the guys who were with me on my boat, all the guys who were with me in the specific action where they could see it and do it, absolutely document what I said. As you‘ve seen in the last few days, you‘re now learning about the lie that‘s been put out there and how it‘s been put out there. The United States Navy 35 years ago, when it was fresh, did its own documentation. Those documents stand. And I‘m absolutely telling you the God‘s honest truth."
Interesting that most likely Sen. Kerry wrote the after-action report, and although he says "The United States Navy 35 years ago, when it was fresh, did its own documentation." Funny Sen. Kerry isnt it that the citations from the very events you are relating to have been changed since those 35 years. Which document stands Sen. Kerry? Which of the 2 Bronze Star citations, which of the 3 Silver Star citations. Which of those is the "God's Honest Truth"?
This statement by Kerry could come back to haunt him. |

people like Kerry who are habitually late are people who Dr. Phil, (you
know the people expert on tv) think they are so important that nothing
will start without them and so they can be late all the time. They are
"the center of the universe thinkers"
I have a son-in-law like that, and I have to admit it drives me nuts as I am someone who was raised by a father who said "If you are not there on time, too bad, I will leave" and he would, so I learned to be on time.
Actually, the fact that Kerry is being late shows his attitude about himself,
and shows a lack of manners that is very telling as it informs us he knows
he is the "center of the universe" and the world is not moving unless
he is present. Yes, I can see him thinking that, the peons can wait,
there are not as important as me! _________________ Swiftvets rock! |

Clinton had the same problem. Most veterans do not because the
discipline they learn in the military stays with them for the rest of
their lives. _________________ Susan R. Morton |
