It's not time to bury Kerry yet. If they bury him in August, then they don't reap the benefits of the election frenzy (and the ensuing demand for news coverage) in September and October. It's like in pro sports; they don't want people tuning out because one of the teams is getting blown out or is 20 games out of first place.

I have a hunch that at least some of the major news organizations will have a much more thorough and scandalous analysis of the SBVT charges come mid-October.

Maybe its just that none of them want to be the first reporter to truly bury Kerry's campaign by telling the truth about him. It could make them unwelcome in the old media/hollywood social circles, because they would be viewed as helping Bush get re-elected.

It will be interesting to see who will be the first to break ranks from the head-in-the-sand-Kerry-is-great media army.

Maybe for a few. But it's really just what it looks like. And you have to get over this fetish. The LM (leftwing 'mainstream') is not mainstream, and is not out to report the story, but to get Democrats elected. They are daring you to watch them. Don't like what you see, they say, where else you gonna go - talk radio? HA! FOX? They're getting increasingly 'leftie' every week. You got nowhere else to turn. Big Brother IS telling you.

Yet they were stunned that so many people knew about O'Neill and the others efforts, when the LM had routinely and systematically omitted any report on the matter. How could people have POSSIBLY found this out? We didn't open no gates? We kept 'em locked? Must have gotten through the fence somehow. Truth is, they simply locked thimselves in. Good for the rest of us.

His life has been full of miscalculations, the media ofcourse knows this. The feeding frenzy will begin soon, remember they all want ratings.

Forget it --- most of the MSM members are busy writing their first drafts of one of the following books

(1) What the DNC did wrong in 2004,
(2) How Hillary is the Great White Hope for the party,
(3) What is wrong with American voters,
(4) How Bush campaign and DNC were behind Swift Vets (comic book fiction)
(5) How the internet & blogs distort information in our society
(6) Why cable TV is harmful

--- And one lonely journalist is writing a book about how the MSM failed to fully investigate Kerr's 4 months in Vietnam and his "Band of Brothers" during the primary season

I actually think the media loves the Swiftboat Vet controversy. They love anything that will sell a paper or garner their ratings, and the worse it is the better they like it.

I think the media loved the swiftvets becuase they filled an empty august hole of non news. Iraq War Kobe bryant michael jackson scott peterson are all 'old news' and the swiftvets was 'hot' . Now that other news is happening ala the RNC they want to push the swiftvets aside becuase they no longer need them. Thats fine. this story isnt dead and when the RNC convention is over and news goes back to being boring they will pick up the swiftvets again.

But how could it benefit THEIR ratings . . . . . . if they didn't cover the story in the first place - right?

They saw themselves as 'gatekeepers'. And they were keeping the gate closed on O'Neill and the 'Swifties'. But not 'blogs'. Not the web. And certainly not talk radio. Even FOX apparently covered it, to some degree.

The LM (leftwing 'mainstream') RESENT . . the . . . gosh-darned heck out of 'new media'. People found out. And it wasn't because of the LM.

There is a market for objective news reporting and the "mainstream" press has forgetten its mission.

We just want info...period. And that news...gets out, now more than ever because there are arguably too many news programs that need material to stay relevant.

A case in point: The NY Times' own admission that if the Swiftees commercials didn't have cable TV, the NYT editors are saying they would've ignored or killed the story. So cable ran with it.

It's funny how the "Right", "Conservative", or "Pro-American" stance is viewed as radical these days.

Imagine is Kerry gets elected (gagging as I type this), then Kerry will be beholden to the MSM and they will have enornous influence.

I think this is a deeply troubling issue that the MSM has hoped they would never have to face.

Acknowledgement of the enormity of Kerry's opportunistic fraud and treachery is a tacit admission of their own CULPABILITY and/or COMPLICITY in perpetrating this fraud on the American populace.
