I wish people would stop using MSM for Main Stream Media. Every time I see it I think the person is referring to the Meritorious Service medal. I don't know how many other vets think this way, but when I see that "MSM" as a reference to the media, I peg the person immediatly as a non vet. Come to think of it, that is why Vietnam and the military activity there is not understood and the same questions are asked here over and over.

Rather than non military it's probably just because most of us are lousy typists and MSM is easier to type (read: I'm a lazy bast*rd). All of the acronymns I've learned over the years start to get jumbled anyway.
