Reporter Michael Dobbs and Columnist Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post as well as University of VirginiaProfessor/MSM Talking Head Larry Sabato have begun to express frustration with Kerry's refusal to answer questions on Cambodia and Form 180.

The Susan Estrich and Michael Mehan interviews today may prove to be a fatal mistake. The concept of "the cover up is worse than the crime" is dogma at the Post. The Post is not going to let go of this until they get their answers.

No matter how bad the facts are, the Washington Post might have given Kerry cover. But not the cover up. Now, the sharks are smelling blood in the water.

Lets hope so. I'll believe it when I see it.

Sharks is a decent analogy, but I think coyotes is closer.

Coyotes assemble as many attackers as possible,
first making sure the victim is helpless enough that he can't counter.

The press seems to be using this tactic, and the "yip yip yip yoooo" sound we're beginning to see in small standalone articales is just a call for help to make sure there's a big enough bunch before any one of them sticks their neck out far enough.

The really cool part is when the coyotes finally do attack, they defend themselves from interlopers trying to horn in on their prey. Which will leave the MSM that wasn't part of the initial effort holding the bag, and looking like the shills they actually are. Twisted Evil

Kerry really has made several fatal mistakes:

1. He truly believes that his 'war hero' status combined with his 'principled' opposition to the war make him a VERY attractive candidate (see David Broder's interview in 2002.) He has never really been intellectually honest enough with any self-examination to realize that people believe that honesty and character COUNT!

2. His entire political career has been formulated on the misconception that his military exploits were untouchable. But he has grossly underestimated the ability of current military and retired veterans to see through his carefully constructed house of cards. He is no longer dealing with just the fawnings of the liberal press and a bunch of beltway sychophants whose closest line-of-duty injuries are some very nasty and extremely painful papercuts.

3. The SBVFT have brought a "call to action" to all who have served and sacrificed for the love of country, patriotism, and loyalty to their brothers-in-arms. We are not the mindless and pliable political 'intellectuals' that think that the Washington 'spin' can drown out another supposed 'vast right wing conspiracy.' As all of the Swiftees have made clear -"this is not political - it is PERSONAL."

4. Kerry's willingness to cast all of the issues in doubt by a full frontal assault and deflecting the blame to the republicans is an act of desperation and part of his well documented ROE when pushed into a corner by an avalanche of facts.

Kerry's greatest mistake is that he has listened to his 'political' war planners in formulating is counter-offensive. The people surrounding Kerry, coupled with his own monumental ego, have failed to take into consideration that they are now facing people who have done war planning for real.

Kerry has made the fatal mistake of ignoring something that a Vietnam Veteran told me during fighter-lead-in-training at Holloman over 20 years ago - "never underestimate your enemy, and never overestimate your own capabilities.'

Kerry's real miscalculation was by sending out his prep-school minions, and so-called strategists to defend his lies and transparent obfuscations, was that he is bringing a knife to a gunfight!

Their screams and spins will never be a match for real warriors. It's time to really FENCE in blow these guys out of the water.

can anyone tell me what happened to Ted Kennedy? You don't see him out there around Kerry. He helped bring Kerry to the limelight. But where is he now to his defense.

Methinks he may be busy with another Kennedy problem in the news recently.

To be fair to The Post, they haven't exhibited the usual knee-jerk leftism on the war on terror that you find in The NY Times and most of the other leftist papers. After all, they did support the war in Iraq. So, if there is one leftist publication out there that might be willing to look at the other side, it could be them. They did carry out that 'two-sided' investigation on the available John Kerry military records vs. "Unfit for Command". At least they pretend to want to know the truth. It's a far cry from the outrage the others are displaying at the very idea of anyone questioning the status of their new-found war hero, Popeye Kerry.

He's either:

1) Taking a pretty young lady out for a ride in his car, or

2) He's distancing himself from Kerry, knowing that he could get caught up in Kerry's troubles, thus potentially harming his own political career.
