One thing that has always irked me is the way the term "liberal" has been bastardized down through the years. There was a time when "liberal" meant just the opposite of what it means today.
Case in point: I am a liberal. An old-style classical liberal, that is. I'm a believer in individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism. (The two things that make modern pseudo-liberals cringe.)
As a matter of fact, in some parts of the world, "liberal" still carries the old meaning.
BTW, John Kerry sucks. (Just had to throw that in!)

| What once was called liberal 100 years ago is now called libertarianism. What is called liberal today is more or less socialism. |
