Amazon is allowing all reviews!

In fact, you do not even need to have bought the book to review the book! That sure does give the anti book crowd a forum. Well, we have the same forum, so use it!

Any of you that read the reviews will find that they fall into two distinct groups. The negative reviews seem like copy and paste from the anti-book crowd and bogs. (They are so predictable with all the same garbage)

Typical anti-Bush or anti “Unfit for Command” diatribe. They are still spouting the AWOL, the “volunteering” of Kerry, the “official” Navy records. It goes on and on.

The good reviews seem to have been written by people that actually read the book and carefully weighed the pros and cons.

You can also “rate” the reviews. There are probably over 2000 by now. These ratings seem like a straw poll on the election itself!

So, go there and “vote”.

Please note that amazon has changed its policy on posting reviews and now specifically unleashes "ad hominem attacks" - a special policy established for this book, alone.

Why was the policy not suspended for "Tour of Duty" or "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" or "George W. Bush is a Big Fat Liar?"

Sorry, I'm getting more disgusted with amazon by the day.

Posted this in the Book section, but perhaps worth repeating...

I ordered UFC on 8/15 from Amazon, along with several other books I've been planning to buy. Total order well exceeded $100, qualifying for the free shipping, so I decided to take it and wait an extra week. Until yesterday, the order tracking showed this coming week as the ship/delivery dates. Yesterday I got notice from Amazon that there was action needed on my order... went to the site and the ship/delivery date (for UFC only) was going to be late Oct. or even into Nov. hmmm, interesting timing, especially since the publisher has said they'll keep printing to meet demand and apparently a whole bunch shipped this week.

So, I cancelled the entire order, went to BAMM and ordered, and then wrote Amazon a "here's why I'll never buy a book from you again" letter. The opening is there for them to come back and explain an error, but absent that, I have to wonder how UFC could be #1 at Amazon. Certainly won't stay that way if they really have decided to miss the window of opportunity.

Would be curious if other folks awaiting orders at Amazon have rec'd similar notice?

Kat
