Each Sunday my local paper lists the NY Times Top 10 Book Best Sellers (fiction and nonfiction).
I was eagerly awaiting this Sunday
To my disappointment, they didn't use the NY Times list this week but instead used Publishers Weekly as a source for the Top 10 Book Best Sellers.
Unfit For Command was nowhere to be found. |

Google for "best seller list". Go to New YorkTimes.
It's there. #1 Hardcover non-fiction. _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

It's just curious.
I figure there is a lag, but the book was released on 8/15 and today's paper is 8/29.
I expected to see it either at #3 (like in it's first week) or at #1 (where it is this week).
Instead it doesn't appear at all. What numbers are they using, how old and why?
When they used the NY Times numbers (last week for example) they explain which week is represented in the footnote.
Now that they suddenly decided to use Publishers Weekly, there is no footnote explaining which week is being represented.
Just curious. |
