Excerpt from "A Debt of Gratitude"
This Nation owes a debt of gratitude to the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth which goes far beyond any recognition of their service in Vietnam. For the appearance of these men has given the American people an opportunity to see, exhibited against the glaring backdrop of a Presidential election, the clear and unmistakable differences between Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals and honor and dishonor. The Republican party and conservatives are used to the most outrageous hypocrisy on the part of the Democratic party and the left, and to the constant, indefensible application of double standards by the elite media. Now the entire American public has the opportunity to see that while Democrats and their supporters are asking that voters entrust them with the privilege of making our laws, choosing our judges and defending our nation, they are at the same time threatening legal action to prevent anyone from publicly disagreeing with or speaking out against them. We may never know the entire truth about some of the issues raised in Unfit for Command. But the outright attempt to forcibly prevent ones' critics from being heard and a media which doesn't consider such an imposition of censorship to be newsworthy, let alone let alone feel a sense of outrage over its' implementation---this is the real story of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth. That these two groups could find themselves in charge of both determining our rights and liberties and exposing agression against them is scary. Pundits have called this one of the most important elections in recent memory. They are right.

Great Post
People who cannot accept negative comments have no business running for president. Even Washington and Lincoln had to deal with critics. _________________ "That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoe making and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poor house."
