Just noticed this on Drudge at 8:00PM EST

"Reporter Robert Novak has been touting the anti-John Kerry book UNFIT FOR COMMAND without mentioning that his son is the publisher's publicist... Developing..."

Of course it's a non-issue when compared to all of the conflicts of interest that've come out on the pro-Kerry side, but I'm sure the MSM and the leftie pundits will pounce on it and whine, whine, whine...

Bob "the Plame leak" Novak can sink or swim. His choice. Maybe CBS/Viacom can bail him out.

And the implication is what?
That Novak has a son?
That Novak created the Swift-boats?
That Novak's opinion was changed by his son?
This is incredibly trivial....Drudge is stretching with this one.

And michael reagan is the son of Ronald Reagan...

So What...

Why is it republicans can never earn a living helping other republicans, but the dems have every major TV network working in their favor...

Screw them and what they stand for....

the truth is emerging and kerry is the lie...

any other subtrefuge is merely deflection on the dems side and is not even worth discussing...

Even Fox has the CBS wallace son on... SO WHAT.....

The problem is the conflict of interest.

Remember when Dick Clark's book came out and Drudge jumped on the fact that a CBS affiliated company was publishing the book, at the same time CBS was touting it on 60 Minutes?

You can be seen as being in conflict by publicizing a book by which you or someone you have an associaton with can profit.

The charge can be made that Novak is advocating this book for the benefit of his son.

It may be bogus, but it nonetheless is a potential conflict of interest.

Drudge probably should report it, and Novak probably should explain himself.

Novak has teflon for skin. It will roll right off him. The only problem is CNN which may cheerfully dump slop in his face because he is a token conservative in the left field.

Man, I am laughing my butt off thinking how the NYTimes can expand it's Vast Right Wing Conspiracy chart linking Swifties to Bush...now to Novak, Rove, the Outing of Superwoman SecretAgent Valerie Plame, and Novak's 200 other links.

Novak is DC's version of Kevin Bacon. Everything is linked to him with 1-4 degrees of separation.

The paranoid Lefties will be wild-eyed as the Times chart could expand to 2 full newpaper pages!

I guess I don't get how Robert Novak's son's publishing identity has any relevance to the truths as told by the Swift Boat Veterans. If Novak's son owned Regnery, does that make the Swiftees' truths any less true?

It will be a link to a story by somebody else, not Drudge. He doesn't write 99% of the stuff on his web site, it's just links.

They're going to cite conflict of interest at Novak, from then on it's a case of who you want to believe as far as the public is concerned. If the Kerry camp can point a sliver of doubt toward anyone, the media will run with it.

What company published "Tour of Duty" ? I bet they are connected one way or another to a big media company.

Brinkley works for NBC and that doesn't stop him from defending Kerry and writting books about him.And it doesn't stop NBC from covering the story.

So Novak can't tout any books because his son is a publicist? Give me a break.
