|
|
The Silver Star with V on the DD214 can easily be explained away as a clerical error that Kerry never noticed ... but he did seem to notice that he only had 2 campaign stars and ask that it be upped to 4 ...
THIS IS FRAUD, plain and simple ... and Kerry asked for this change, no clerical error involved ...
We'll see if the MSM will hook on this since the Navy says that they are not deserved ... _________________ JJC

I believe cipher figured out exactly what those campaign stars were for - the award and one of the devices were for his short tour on the USS Gridley and three for his short tour in Vietnam - a total of five awards, if I'm not mistaken?
Search for posts by Cipher that includes the words campaign and device _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I disagree on the clerical error simply for the fact that there is no such thing as a Silver star with a V. I think the odds of something that does not exist being written in error are very low....it would stand out like a sore thumb to anyone in the know. Add on top of that the increasingly embellished and edited text, and it is totally suspect.
A replacement citation would be a duplicate copy of an existing one with no changes so the "lost citation" excuse holds no water. |

The "clerical error" comment was just to point out the "spin" that will come from Kerry about the Silver Star ... _________________ JJC

Yes, the "clerical error" will be a handy excuse.
But, unless you've drunk the KookAde, there's no way you can believe JK didn't know it was there.
He corrected his DD214 to ADD awards - why didn't he correct the V on the SS at the same time? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

(Regarding the 4 bronze campaign stars on Kerry's VSM. The claim is valid and the issue should not be pursued. Navy documentation source (Not Kerry's!) cited.)
The pertinent page from the OPNAVNOTE 1650 is here (PDF Format):

The pertinent page citing the campaigns for the VSM with dates (html)
www.history.navy.mil/faqs/stream/faq45-25.htm
The Vietnam Service Medal was awarded to members of the US Navy who served at any time between March 15, 1962, and March 28, 1973, in Vietnam or its contiguous waters or airspace; or, for any period of service during the same time period in Thailand, Laos, or Cambodia or the air spaces thereover and in direct support of operations in Vietnam.
Bronze stars are authorized for participation in the 29 campaigns (later consolidated to 17) specified for the Vietnam War.
Bottom line: He rates the ribbon, and four bronze stars. This is not an issue, except that the Navy disallowed 2 of the stars (for whatever reason). _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

It's so helpful that we can pre-debunk the spin before Kamp Kerry wastes its time scrambling for a lame excuses.
