I sent a request to C SPAN to replay the original press conference from May of this year. With all the current attention this has gotten I thought it would be good to see this in its entirety.

This would also add reference and context to Kerry's testimony before congress representing the VVAW.

I would like to urge anyone here that would like to join me in this request to email C SPAN at viewer@c-span.org

Also if anyone has a link or copy of the broadcast maybe you could post it here...

If you have Real Player or (my preference) Real Alternative installed on your computer, you can see the original press conference via streaming video:

Thank you so much for posting this. I just got done watching the entire press conference. I hope anyone who has not taken the time to hear this directly will do so. It was very moving and heart felt.

Please spread the word and send the link to those you know.

I am also writing letters to my congresional representatives

Just watched CSpan. It was another attempt by the libertal media to sanitize the truth by its selective editing.

I would say that it was unbelievable, but I know that the media will not let the truth be known.

I am heart sick at how Stalinist the US Media has become.

We are the choir. What hope does the average American have?

I thought that today on the bus as I was telling a friend sitting next to me to make sure & watch the C-Span kerry testimony when behind me a man raised his voice and started blabbering something I could not understand, but it was something about "Yeah, why don't you watch Bush's testimony before the senate! .. blorgh, gleek...bush.!..bush...burble" -- I turned around and said, "Excuse me? I'm not talking to you." He was loud and hostile and threatening -- "well I heard what you were saying, and you can't say those things about Kerry and bush...bush...." Practically yelling and total bully. GOD!! My fury -- I cannot express it here. I'm talking to a friend, and the pod-person believes he has the right to shut me up because he doesn't like what I'm saying to my friend.... What is that??

I do think there is hope for America but we're going to have to fight -- can't let those people shut us up.

By the way, after C-Span, the phone call-ins ..... I think one of those was probably by the guy behind me on the bus tonight!

noc,
I'm sorry you thought he was so sincere. I must disagree. As one of the callers to the show afterwards said, "no one who had only served 3-4 months had ANY business testifying before that committee!" AMEN. Did anyone notice that only one or two Swift Boat supporters were allowed to speak?

Unfortunately, Kerry might come out looking OK from the replay. Most people don't know that the peace talks had started and that the VVAW were almost entirely slimeballs. They were undermining the government at the peace talks. They'll say Kerry was right about it being a war we should not have been in (hence the peace talks, duhhh). They won't know about the millions of people that died in IndoChina after we left, though Kerry said it would be a few thousand. They won't know that Kerry had professional experience (a speechwriter who wrote for Bobby Kennedy) writing his speech, that he lied about having to hurry to get it done, that Senator Fulbright was anti-war, that Kerry had cocktails at Senator Hart's days before (Unfit for Command, p. 102) and on and on. Mad

And also, I believe they did not allow O'Neill to testify before that Committee even though he wanted to.

Just a clarification. It was NOT John Kerry that I thought was sincere but the Swift Boat Vets in their press conference in May. Kerry's testimony makes me want to vomit.

noc,
I apologize and thank you for your clarification! I would have responded sooner, but have been out of town and in a spot with no Internet connection!

I saw that original press conference and agree with you that the Swift Boat Veterans definitely were sincere! I had the same reaction after hearing Kerry also!!

Does everybody here know that the owner of Real Player is a big contributer to Kerry. I prefer Windows anyway.
