Quote: | TIME Poll: Among likely voters, 52% would vote for President George Bush, while 41% would vote for John Kerry and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader
Friday, Sep. 03, 2004
New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6.
Most important issues: When asked what they consider are the most important issues, 25% of registered voters cited the economy as the top issue, followed by 24% who cited the war on terrorism as the top issue. The situation in Iraq was rated the top issue by 17% of registered voters, moral values issues such as gay marriage and abortion were the top issue for 16% of respondents, and health care was the most important issue for 11% of respondents. |
Ok, first off, I'm not a big fan of polls, but IF this were true, it is a GREAT START....
I say Great Start, because I will not be satisfied until election day and the DEFEAT of kerry....
This also doesn't take into account those who lie to a poll, like dems that will say they like Kerry, but when confronted with the Lever, Pull for President Bush in the Polling Booth...
I saw woodruff on CNN, and I swear she grimaced while reading the above news......
Muahahahahahhaha......
Great Stuff....
Keep up the Great Work, Swift Boat Veterans For Truth is responsible along with the RNC for making this shift, and helping to keep Kerry out of office...
Don't ever let up....
Keep Giving so we can run more ads....
Tell everyone you know about this site....
Keep kerry out of the White House....
Best Regards,

GREAT NEWS! Even if it is just the "bump" from the convention,
it gives me hope that the American people are coming to their
senses and realizing the truth about John Kerry. Although it was
a terrific convention, the Swifties laid the groundwork for victory
by exposing the lies upon which Kerry's entire campaign is based.

I really hope and pray that the lead continues to widen after that idiotic display by Kerry last night in Ohio. That man is surely asking for more trouble each time he refers back to his Vietnam days. My biggest surprise is that there are still people supporting him. |

I couldn't find that poll on Times web site.
I did find this from last Sunday on their site.
"In a TIME poll of likely voters last week, Bush pulled in 46% vs. Kerry's 44% in a three-way race with Ralph Nader (5%). The poll showed a shift from early August, when Kerry had a 5-point lead, though in both cases the difference was within the margin of error. Bush may be showing movement, but more registered voters still say it's time for someone else to be President (49%) than believe Bush deserves to be re-elected (46%)—numbers sure to give G.O.P. stalwarts heartburn.
It's even worse among swing voters, only a third of whom say Bush merits a second term." _________________ "We want to develop defenses that are capable of defending ourselves and defenses capable of defending others"

I found the CNN electoral College pool (Aug 28th) on CNN's web site
"Bush would receive 274 electoral votes to Kerry's 264 if the election were held today, less than 10 weeks before November 2 and three days before the opening of the GOP convention in Madison Square Garden. If Kerry were to pick up a state as small as Nevada, the electoral vote would be tied, throwing the election into the House of Representatives." |

Yep, sure is.
HOWEVER, this news will also spur the Kerry Campaign. So, all the more to believe that there is a chance of Kerry's lead going up, and thus not to become complacent but to continue the battle. Onward, soldiers! |
