I received notice today that my copy of Unfit for Command has shipped from Amazon.
I had read many speculations that Amazon would not ship Unfit for Command until the end of October or even November and attrubuting the delay to a nefarious intent. I ordered the book on 8/27 with an estimated shipping date of 9/9 because of supply issues (the publisher just couldn't keep up with the unexpected demand). On 8/30 I received (probably like most) a follow up from Amazon that the book was out of stock and giving me the option of cancelling or waiting, but assuring me that the book would ship as soon as it was available. I haven't seen any indication that Amazon is trying to delay distribution of the book. I think Amazon was just as unhappy about the supply problem as we were. The book's a great hit, but I think its rise on the best seller list has surprised almost everyone.
To borrow a line from Sean Hannity, "Let not your hearts be troubled," the book's shipping. Hoo Rah!
