KAAAA-CHING
That was the sound of my second contribution to SBVFT. I just couldn't resist after reading of the attacks on the Swiftees by Susan Estrich, Joe Locklear, and the problems Al French is having.

Don't these idiots realize that this isn't just a matter of 260 Swift Boat Veterans. There are 2 million Vietnam Veterans and each and every one of us had our character and service impugned by Kerry. And I'm sure that most of those veterans were aware of at least one instance of someone who attempted to build his resume at the expense of those he served with.

I was Army and not Navy. To my knowledge I've never even seen a Swift Boat Veteran. But when you attack them you also attack me. And when you question their veracity, character, and service you also do the same to me. I was 20 years old when I came home from my 18 months in Vietnam. I was poor and powerless and there was little I could do to remove the stain placed on my soul by Kerry. I've lived with that stain for 33 years now.

God Bless the Swiftees! You guys keep up the good work.

Thanks for your service with the Americal! Sadly, many Vet's still know nothing of Kerry and many don't care and will still vote for Kerry. The last poll I saw last week had it 56% for Bush and 38% Kerry among Vet's. My 89 year old neighbor, a Vet of the 8th Air Force and POW for two years was going to vote Dem for the first time in his life!!!!!! I changed his mind!!!!!!!

Your statement above reminded me of the O'Neill/Kerry 1971 debate on Cavett where Kerry was saying he had 8,000 vets on his side (or some such number) that would back him up on all his views/claims and O'Neill was telling him that he represented the 2 million (or some such number) of vets who do not agree with Kerry and who served honorably -- and Kerry's snide come-back to that was -- who are you to think you are speaking for them? You are only speaking for yourself.

This argument was never resolved -- for as far as I can recall (I'm a civilian, but lived thru Nam era) masses of those "other veterans" did not come forward. This is why I am so hoping that they DO come forward now at the 9/12/04 rally against Kerry in Washington, DC. I suppose it is a logistical nightmare and a financial stress for vets to make it there -- but if they can, this is their chance to prove O'Neill right when he stood by them so long ago and to support him again and THEMSELVES in this effort to set the record straight, to denounce kerry and to cry out for justice to be brought upon that man who so wrote history in his own image at the expense of the honor of his own country and of all those who served.

And God Bless YOU friend! Thank you for your service! Thank you for your patriotism! I'm not a vet, only a military brat, but I know which way is up! You are an American hero!

I just made a third contribution.

As a Libertarian, about the best one can do nowadays is to vote the least incompetent candidate. None of the current crop of candidates are ideal, but Kerry ain't nearly the least incompetent of the bunch (GRIN).

Folks need to know who the heck they are voting for, regardless of which candidate they 'hold their nose' for when casting a vote. If Kerry wins, we can only hope that voters have been properly fore-warned.

MSM is not doing their job. SBVT provides a valuable voter education service.

If the ads slow down, MSM will sweep this issue under the rug. SBVT needs steady funding to continue the message.

Kerry has a history of pulling ahead in the final days of a campaign. Adequate funding will become increasingly urgent thru to Election Day.
