I was thinking of sending this to as many newspapers as possible. I could use some help.
What do you guys/gals think?
John Kerry is unpatriotic and I’ll tell you why. Back in 1972, while U.S. soldiers, sailors and airmen were fighting and dying in Viet Nam, he gave aid and comfort to the enemy of the United States of America. That is what most veterans believed then and it is true still today. You can disagree with the foreign policy of the United States until it starts helping our enemies in their struggle against us. First and foremost you were an American Naval Officer who taken an oath to defend the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. You did do that in Viet Nam, you did not do that when you met with the Viet Cong in Paris to discuss peace terms without authorization or the knowledge of the U.S. Government.
Today in Iraq, American servicemen are dying at the hands of terrorists that are being given aid & comfort from John Kerry, Howard Dean and a host of their surrogates. Just as in Viet Nam our military had won every battle and was winning, when the shrill rhetoric of the anti-war crowd emboldened our enemies to hold on until the U.S. was forced to withdraw which lead to the slaughter of millions, by the Communists of the north and the Viet Cong. That cannot be allowed to happen again.
If you don’t think that Al Jazeera is not reporting every word of Kerry’s speeches to the terrorists in Baghdad along with those of other unpatriotic Americans, then I have a bridge to sell you. The time to debate whether America should have gone to war was before the first bullet flew or that border was crossed. Now, we have service men and women in harm’s way. Every time some one is quoted in the press saying that “it’s the wrong war, at the wrong time in the wrong place” some terrorist over in Iraq gets emboldened to blow himself up for Allah and take some of our soldiers with him. America needs to present a solid front to the entire world that we will not cut and run as in Viet Nam. Lets not encourage the terrorists to think that if they can just kill enough soldiers that we will tire and slink away.
Both the Democrats & Republicans and anyone else can say that this war was right or wrong, but make no mistake about it. They both must state unequivocally to the terrorists that we will not rest, we will not bring our troops home until the mission is fully accomplished and that it will only be when every terrorist over there is dead, captured or has fled the battlefield. If we as a country, had sent that message loud and clear already, the terrorists would have fled long ago into the hillsides as they did in Afghanistan. We have to stop not supporting our troops which is exactly what the looney left and some others seeking higher office have done by being wishy washy and not clear that we will stay until the job is done.
We as free Americans, have the right to free speech and can criticize the details on how the operation is being performed as long as every American is clear we will not be driven out, no matter the cost. We as a country did debate before and did decide to go to war, we are in it, and no matter the cost, we must win it. When this war is finally over we can look back and decide whether it was worth it or not. But now, we have to look forward and our only goal should be a complete and total victory over terrorists and support for those protecting our freedom.
It is unpatriotic to vote to send men into combat, or authorize the president to use force, or threaten Saddam with force or whatever John Flip-Flop Kerry now believes and not vote to fund the $87 billion dollars to support our troops and rebuild the countryside. You can disagree with where the money comes from, and fight to change that source, but at the end of the day the body armor has to be paid for. It is unpatriotic to accuse our troops of war crimes in the press while the fighting rages. Lets stop giving terrorists (Viet Cong in the past or Al Qaeda today) ammunition and more reasons to try and kill our soldiers. There will be time enough for reflection on this war after the terrorists are gone. _________________ I hope you don't mind an Army vet on your website. Former NCO in 82nd Airborne Div.
