|
|
I was listening to a broadcast on MSNBC last night that showed all of the old footage of the debates and testimony of John Kerry and John O'Neill from the early 1970's. The media tried to portray John O'Neill as a Nixon lackey. It did not work then and it doesn't work today. The most important thing is this: O'Neill's version of the story and his objection to Kerry's actions has never changed. Not one bit. His story is the same, over and over and over. It was true then and it is true now. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

This has been one of my arguments in all the emails I have sent out.
Kerry has a tough time remembering which version to repeat.
Like John said, "The problem with lying is that sometime you might get caught telling the truth."
I just love that line. |

From a great American chronicleer of prevarication, a sampling...
Choose your favorite inre John O'Neill/John Kerry.
Quote: | The most outrageous lies that can be invented will find believers if a man only tells them with all his might.
- Letter to San Francisco Alta California, dated May 17, 1867; published June 16, 1867
Carlyle said "a lie cannot live." It shows that he did not know how to tell them.
- Mark Twain's Autobiography; Mark Twain in Eruption
One of the most striking differences between a cat and a lie is that a cat has only nine lives.
- Pudd'nhead Wilson
There are 869 different forms of lying, but only one of them has been squarely forbidden. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
- Following the Equator; Pudd'nhead Wilson's New Calendar
I am different from Washington; I have a higher, grander standard of principle. Washington could not lie. I can lie, but I won't.
- quoted in Mark Twain, Henderson
Never tell a lie--except for practice.
- quoted in Mark Twain, Henderson 1912
I realize that in a sudden emergency I am but a poor clumsy liar, whereas a fine alert and capable emergency-liar is the only sort that is worth anything in a sick-chamber.
- Mark Twain's Autobiography
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
-Mark Twain - attribution unknown? |
And for the media, one more...
Quote: | Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
-Mark Twain

The whole thing on MSNBC was an attempt to "co-opt" further SwiftBoat ads. All these well-paid Marxists learned about it in university political science and philosophy classes by reading Marxist writers. |

Now I can't resist. You touched on my favorite author.
"Once the human race has aquired a superstition, nothing short of death is likely to remove it."
- Mark Twain
Thanks for the other quotes. |
