The guy is at wits end and cannot look any less presidential (I think). Could he---would he sign his form 180 and try and force Bush to sign his.

Is he that desperate? What is your best guess about what is his medical files. STD's or stuff like that he would be immune (no pun) too in this day age, what is the bombshell?

I think it is very clear that candidate Kerry believes he is a REAL war hero - after all, he's been telling people he is for almost 35 years!

At this point it's not much of a campaign plank, but it's all he's got.

No, I don't believe he will EVER release all his records.

EDIT: Hmmm.... I did some quick searching and it looks like maybe he didn't. Interesting. I've seen reports that he did, reports that he didn't, and reports that he gave verbal authorization.

On Bush signing his 180.

Reportedly, he just issued a Presidential Order for the
release of the documents, but either it was not in
writing, or they haven't posted it on the WH site, nor
anywhere else that I can find.

The Kerry camp won't have made an issue of this, of
course, because they don't want to "go there". Heck,
they won't even discuss obvious glaring problems
with the documents they have posted.

If Kerry gets pressed on the 180, expect the matter
of the Bush 180 to arise, even though doing so might
turn up no additional documents.

The issue of the 180 seems to confuse the Kerry
staffers. They think "180" refers to Kerry's positions
on important issues.

I don't think you will see any medical records being exposed..(from either side)
BUT, with an investigation (Judical Watch) pending, kerry's 180 has to come out, on the table...

Does there exist a site showing precisely how Kerry
would fill out a Standard Form 180?

I see a lot of activists advocating it, but none seem
to have read the form, and it appears there are
ways Kerry could "sign" it that would not result in
release of all "undeleted" records, from all archives,
to the general public.

Not that Kerry is likely to sign, but anyone pushing this
needs to show precisely what's being asked of Kerry,
with just the SSN and signature spaces left blank (but
highlighted).

I might add that this is mainly of use for handing
out sign-here copies of 180s to journalists.

If the SF 180 situation can be gamed, Kerry will
game it. Media hacks need to know what to watch
out for (unless said hacks are already fully in bed
with Kerry).

STD is the first thing that came to my mind, of course that was a couple of months ago before I came here. I know Kerry signing the 180 is a main objective, but I'm so mad now I really don't care if he does (sorry). I mean they have had way too much time to alter it. (Kerry and Co. have done breakins before you know).

Kerry will not sign Form 180, ever. Yes, the superficialty of his wounds would be revealed, but his supporters don't care. His risk is if people start calling for his most recent medical records. Like Clinton he's hiding something - we now know what Clinton's been hiding. Health problems are a sure campaign stopper.
