yes, I hear this continually on the Neil Cavuto show....
we should be sure to tell ths to friends and relatives if they are Kerry people and concerned about the economy.
another thing is this poverty index (or whatever they call it); they've discussed that - and it isn't what it sounds like... well, maybe in a way it is... but 'poverty' to us is not having more than 1 tv (or 2) , not having more than 1 car (or maybe only being able to afford a car under 20,000.00) .... it's not starving and living on the streets type 'poverty'.... i'm in poverty.... I only have 1 tv... satilite in 1 room.... 1 very old car (1985) etc.... I'd love to be able to afford a new car and a 20,000.00 car would be a dream to me!
I also just heard we don't want another super economy boom like during Clinton yrs.... a slower increase (like we're having) would be safer.... less likely for an economy 'bubble' to burst - like it did! |

Stevie,
all a question of framing the debate. The left wing loves the "Lorenz curve". This is a RELATIVE measure of poverty - income & wealth distribution in rleation to the super rich..
in contrast to them we are all in "poverty".. this is of course all nonsense .. poverty should be measured versus ABSOLUTE reference points..
