When first read, this article hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew several classmates who did go to Nam. They returned, but were never thanked by me. Not that I degraded them, spit upon them, or screamed "baby killers" - they were given a "welcome home" but never a thank you. My error and oversight. At that time, I was such a dunce. Each of our brave men is entitled to a "thank you". Whether it be now or then....or 200+ years ago. Not that I'm any smarter today, but I do read and attempt to find the truth. Tho I never faulted any who actually served - anywhere, anytime - I did fault our own government for the decisions they made & continue to do so today. These men returned from VM with scars of their combat - both physical & mental - and certainly deserved better than their government and those they protect extended towards them.
So, my lesson..... A thank you! to each of these men who have served - in VN or elsewhere & those who are serving at this time. You are truly the reason our nation stands today.
Many thanks and appreciation to each and every one!
