Sen. John Kerry's campaign biographer Douglas Brinkley said Sunday that if an ongoing Navy investigation into Kerry's military decorations turns up evidence of "purposeful" deception, it could spell doom for the top Democrat's White House bid.

How can they not see it all ready?
and Will the navy do anything about it?
The book Unfit for Command lait it out pretty darn good for me. And I'm simply a Hard Working HS Grad.

The Lier should be taken out NOW!

In today's AP story (and we know all about their record of accuracy and fairness, eh?) it's noted that Bush's National Guard records were obtained with a Freedom of Information request.

Hello? Kerry's records anyone? Buehler? Anyone?

Doesn't it beg the question of why they haven't used FOI to gain access?

An FOI *was* filed on Kerry.

They got six (6) pages.

*If* Kerry did sign form 180, I wonder how long before St Louis actually can collect all the documents and present them? It took me over a year to get all of my dad's military records. If you have been in several different avenues of service, as my dad was, (i.e Reserves, enlisted and Commissioned), then it takes time to gather all the documentation from these sources...

time is running out...It makes me sick to think of "him who will not be mentioned" putting out his sick propoganda on DVD right before the election.

Ah, some of my confusion comes from this paragraph of today's AP story:

"The records, released under 'pressure' of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by The Associated Press, show Bush ranked in the middle of his 1969 flight training class and flew 336 hours for the Texas Air National Guard, mostly in the F-102A fighter. [emphasis mine].

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040908/D84VG61O0.html

So, the AP "pressured" the DOD? Why don't they pressure to get more of Kerry's records?

It took me MONTHS to get my records - and what they actually sent was a tiny fraction of what my service jacket actually contained.

How can the Navy not find purposeful deception?

By not investigating. At least until after the election.

And this, I sorely hope, is exactly what they'll do.

I'm not looking forward to enduring four more years of lying, screeching & whining from the left that Bush "stole" the election by abusing his powers. Their endless lies and disruption have torn this country apart at the very time that we should be pulling together.

The files that are in St Louis are his health and personnel files. The reports are in the Naval Archives, Operational Branch at the Washington Naval Yard, DC. For some reason, someone put a hold on them. Just FYI..

Now, you got me confused Shocked

Does not the National Personnel Records Center in St Louis gather those
records from those sources as well?

I filled out a SF-180 on my dad's service and received 3 tons of paperwork, a lot of them were "fitness reports". ..
, letters of this and that.. and more on his various duties et al
but all came from ST Louis.

NavyBrat,

The Navy retires its medical records and complete personnel file to St Louis. Everything you said you received is correctly filed in one's personnel file or "service jacket". The reports I'm talking about are the After-Action reports from his unit. All the operational stuff will be in Wash DC.

Better? Cool
