What exactly is "geedunk"? Is it a substance? Is it a state of mind? An activity? I realize that geedunk is a highly technical naval term that I may have difficulty grasping, but perhaps someone will be kind enough to help me out. |

See the very top message at the top of the page.
Among other things, the geedunk is where you go to get coffee and something from the vending machines if you don't have time to go to the chow hall.
The chat room.

I need a geedunk up here in my home office. I've been spending so much time on the forged docs thing that I had breakfast at noon and have missed lunch and two scheduled snacks because I haven't wanted to leave the computer long enough to go downstairs to my kitchen to get something to eat.
And I don't live in a mansion so it's not like it takes more than a few seconds... |

That is either true dedication or fanaticism. |

I hear ya - I need a coffee-maker up here.
I'd be in hog heaven.
Unfortunately, I'd lose my only source of exercise, which is running up and down stairs to fetch my caffeine fix. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Do you suppose Johnny knows how to make his own coffee? Wonder if he has a servant problem. |

OK. Now that I know what geedunk is, how do you pronounce it?
Is that a soft g or a hard g?
Is the stress on the first or second syllable?
I want to be correct in my language so that I will be fully accepted by the cognoscenti of the naval community. |

ghee' dunk, not jee-dunk as in Jen-Jis Khan.
Hard "g," accent on the first syllable. Ain't this technical nomenclature fun? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Thank you. I always count the day lost that I don't learn something new. |
