A new NY Times article again attacks SBVT for contributors being Bush supporters. Again, I ask the NY Times, the DNC, and the Kerry campaign -- who the heck do you expect to contribute to the SBVT, Michael Moore?!?!

I just sent a letter to the editor. The media will never give credit where credit is due. Of the thousands of people on this forum, I don't think I've ever gotten the feeling that participants are bazillionairs. Rather, just simple folks with common sense. It would be nice of them to write an article on that, rather than this old " Bush supporters" crap they continually spew. |

So are the 100+ million dollars given to Moveon.orgs from independents? NYTimes are so stupid. _________________ John Kerry, R.I.P. (Rot In Paris) |

No, just desperate and biased.
Bernie Goldberg put it well in "Bias". They don't think of themselves as biased because they think of themselves as being reasonable. Liberal positions are simply reasonable, liberal candidates are simply reasonable. They don't follow a liberal agenda, they follow a reasonable agenda.
The "reasonable" agenda is that Bush is bad and must go. "Reasonable" people think he has a far right agenda (never mind what conservatives think when they hear that laugher). "Reasonable" reporting supports the candidate of "reason", Kerry.
It is not reasonable to give the SBVFT any credence - they must all be Republican plants. When someone says something against Kerry, it is vile hate speech and obviously lies. When someone says something against Bush, it is reasonable and a fair critique.
Bias has never been more naked than in this election. But my guess is that, as Kerry sinks further (has he done *anything* right in the last couple of months?) the MSM will turn on him. The CBS bruhaha may give them their chance - they can attack Kerry by attacking CBS, a rival, and turn their editorial slant against Kerry. Then after the election they can point to "hard-hiting" anti-Kerry pieces, and say, "See, we aren't biased!" |

I have had the chance to read the Times a couple times this week, and never will again. Their Bias is astounding, not simply in the Editorial Section but throughout their entire Political and World News coverage.
Next time I see a copy I will have to save it for my neighbors to line their Bird Cage with it. _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

There are so many people who have become frustrated with all the biased coverage of newspaper like the NYtimes and LaTimes. With the internet becoming a major source for news and research, and the blogosphere becoming a force to be reckoned with, there is little doubt that many people are canceling their subscriptions to these liberal propaganda machines. |

First of a series, the next one will be how the Pope gets his money from Catholic contributors. Oops, I hope I didn't break an embargo on the story. |

Actually, this one is relatively balanced by Times standards. It does discuss the Dem 527's. The Swiftee ads elicit a "their claims have been called into question" (which is at least true), rather than the Times' usual "discredited" or "unsubstantiated". They let the Dem hacks use those words this time. Small victories, eh.
Check out the comments from Dr. Gelman. A little hokey, which I'm sure the Times reporters sneered at, but they ring with heartland sincerity.
That they included this gem, and that they felt they had to run any article at all, tells me we're winning. _________________ -- Bill in Seattle |

Actually, I think a nice letter to the NY Times asking for a contribution would be in order.
That way the Swiftvets could say they are supported by a left-wing yellow rag journalistic mouthpiece of the DNC.
Fair and balanced political contributions. What a concept! _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

Exactly! I've stopped listening to CNN years ago, and have stopped reading the NYT since Jayson Blair, and I'm not alone. I know many people who have had it with MSM. Thank God for the bloggers and the internet, where the truth isn't filtered by liberal editors.
And as to SBVT contributors being Bush supporters, what of it? I'm both and I'm not a kajillionaire, just a patriotic wife and mom, one of the thousands who belive that Kerry should NEVER be president! Now Kerry has MoveOn.org the Hollywood elites, quite probably people whose allegiance to this country is questionable, but we don't hear about them?! |

I think it was about 40 years ago, William F. Buckley wrote a book about the New York Times. The title of it was a play on the NY Times slogan “All The News That Is Fit to Print”
Buckley’s title was: “All The News That Fits”
I never read the Times after that. _________________ ETR-3 USS Harold E. Holt
