I watched most of today's "Vietnam Vets Against Kerry" rally through tears, especially when they showed the audience which, I understand, included several of the Swiftboard veterans. I wished so badly that I could personally tell each of you "You're my hero!"
I was born in 1960, and was always taught by my parents that our service men (and women) were honorable and deserved my respect. I remember my shocked disbelief when, as a teenager, I heard stories about how our troops were treated when they returned home. It has only been recently, with the release of the SBVT ads, that I learned who was responsible for robbing you of the hero's welcome you so greatly deserved.
I pray that you find comfort in knowing that so many Americans were grateful for your service back then, and still appreciate and value you today. My screen name is so reflective of how I feel on this board - I am in the presence of greatness, and will never cease to be humbled by your sacrifice and service.
