I've been thinking about the boat Kerry has gotten himself into, that is sinking swiftly. He has obviously made a huge mistake in smearing his fellow vets. A simple apology won't do in my estimation, maybe a press conference live on National t.v. would be a start, but first he must own up to his mistake, it should go something like this:
The sun kisses the windowsill
and I am still on my second cup of "pity me"
It's been a long night chasing ghosts but at the most
it's been a rude awakening, I ultimately finally see
That it's my loss,my lonely, my mistake,
mine only, mine all mine all mine
And it's my bad, my broken, all my should haves left unspoken
mine all mine all mine
I drove them to the edge of the map
and after that, I pushed them off just to watch them fall.
They never seemed the bounce back kind, but boy this time
they've proven me wrong after all
now I'm the one whose gonna crawl.
Cuz' it's my loss, my lonely,my mistake
mine only, mine all mine all mine
and it's my bad,my broken, all my should have's left unspoken
mine all mine all mine.
Always thought I'd get the glory,
what's the chance you'd print this story
it seems it's found it's way back in ,but hold on hold on hold on,
It's my loss,my lonely, MY MISTAKE, mine only
mine all mine all mine.
This poem is adapted from a song by the country group"Shedaisy," but it sure seems to fit the bill. Perhaps a copy should be sent to "Vietcong John" via overnight mail. |
