Survey finds employers gearing up to add jobs
Reuters
June 15, 2004
NEW YORK - U.S. companies are gearing up to create jobs at rates not seen since the height of the 1990s boom, a survey released Tuesday showed, adding to evidence that job growth will keep the U.S. economic recovery rolling.
Following two months of strong government payroll reports, the survey is a boon to President George W. Bush in the run-up to elections and will likely confirm expectations that the Federal Reserve will raise U.S. interest rates at the end of June as it moves to beat off emerging inflation.
Thirty percent of polled U.S. employers plan to add to their payrolls in the July to September period, the survey by Manpower Inc. showed. That is up from 20 percent a year earlier and 28 percent in the April to June period.

John Kerry and the rest of the ilk that support him are already spinning this and turning it around to make it bad news and an attack against President Bush. Good news for President Bush, the economy, and this nation is bad news for John Kerry and the Democrats and Liberals. So they will continue to use their 'MO':
'Deny, Lie, Change Subject, Attack'!
For the Democrats and Liberals to succeed, and to get back into power in the White House and Congress, the US has to fail. Our economy has to go into the tank, we have to lose the war on terrorism, lose in Iraq, Afganistan, etc... That is what these people are hoping for. And then they accuse us of questioning their patriotism? Maybe they are feeling guilty for wanting the US to fail, and if that isn't the opposite of patriotism, I don't know what is?
I only have three words for these people, Traitor, Socialist and Communist!
Woof!

I can tell you that where my husband works, they have recently hired 3 new truck drivers. I know 3 isn't much but it's a local trucking company. I read more and more in our paper how companies are hiring people.
The twist I have seen put on the whole thing is that these are not family wage jobs and that people are having to take on 2 jobs to keep a roof over their heads, but from what I have seen with that is that the people who are taking on 2 jobs are the ones who have over extended themselves in their lifestyle making pretty lucrative wages to begin with and expecting to be able to ride the high tide forever.
Our unemployment rate is higher than the National Average, but in today's paper it's reported, that the unemployment rate for our county has dropped to 7.2% down from 7.4% in April and significantly lower than 10.2% in May 2003. Job gains were spread across several industries including health care and retail trade.
Of course any improvement the Democrats are going to twist around or minimize. I would lay you odds that if we had a Democrat President right now they would be telling us how great the economy is and what great job growth we have going on right now. |
