September 16, 2004--Twenty-six percent (26%) of voters believe John Kerry's service during the Vietnam era was more admirable than most young men of that era. Nearly as many, 23%, said his service was less admirable while 45% said Kerry's performance was about the same as others.

A Rasmussen Reports survey found that voters have a somewhat lower opinion of the President's Vietnam-era service--41% believe Bush's performance was less admirable than most while 46% said it was about the same.

When asked which man has been more honest about his service, 40% say Kerry and 36% Bush. There is a huge partisan divide on this question--67% of Democrats say Kerry has been more honest while 67% or Republicans say Bush has been more honest.

Only 20% of all voters believe that the media should continue investigating questions about George W. Bush's National Guard service. Seventy-five percent (75%) say they focus more attention on the things ha has done as President.

The Rasmussen Reports survey also found that 84% say the media should focus more on things that John Kerry has done as a Senator. Only 10% believe they should continue asking about his military service in Vietnam

Important thing to take away from this is that the Democrats are the ones keeping the country from having a more substantive debate.

They chose to make Kerry's military record the focal point of his campaign (lacking anything in Kerry's senate record to talk about), and they are the ones pushing the questions about Bush TANG record.

Concentration on Kerrys Vietnam Days as opposed to Kerrys Senate record is primarily the result of John Kerry not mentioning his Senate Record. The only references to his Record by his Campaign is his title of Senator.
Now of course the SBVFT have made a very big deal of Kerrys time in Vietnam for damned good reason. His actions there were self serving and his accounting less than truthful. His Actions after his return are downright despicable, dihonest and in many eyes Treasonous.
I am sure people would love to hear about Kerrys Senate Record, probably won't though. Kerry knows his Senate Record is worse than his Record in Vietnam, full of being on opposite sides of the same issues, never showing leadership in the Senate, being absent from his duties, etc...
He picked the least damaging image to run on and he loses either way.
