Exactly Right!!!

Lynne Cheney was indignant at her daughter being used as a political
tool in front of a NATIONWIDE AUDIENCE of millions.
Not once, but TWICE!

It is natural for a mother to be protective.
She certainly wasn't indicating "shame" of her daughter.

On second thought, Elizabeth Edwards was reading from the Terry McAuliffe script. That line about "shame" could not have been delivered by Teresa Heinz-Kerry. She is already too cynical. The entire use of Mary Cheney by the DNC is cleverly crafted to 1. elicit outrage from the Cheney family and 2. to spin the DNC response accusing the family of shame. Ultimately the spin has as its purpose to expose VP Cheney and Pres. Bush as homophobes. I believe it will backfire. Americans are fair minded above all. It was arrogant and uncalled for.

It was slimey that he used her as a pawn in his political game just as they are trying to use chris reeves. Pathetic people.

It is ironic that the Lefties can only invoke people like Mary Cheney and John McCain when they are trying to make their points. Goes to show they have no one on their side that they can hold up as examples in promoting their causes.

I understand why he couldn't respond, but I'm sorry Pres. Bush wasn't able to take an opportunity to zing one back on the Cheney comment. But I was proud that he finally set the record straight that McCain is supporting him!

The question was about the impact on the candidate by the women in HIS life. I'd like to know how the Cheney family has anything to do with that question.

Reading this talk of John McCain just prompted me for some comic relief. I watched that jibjab video again - just to see the part where McCain says 'I go both ways in DC! Laughing

Mrs. Edwards is the mother of young children, yes? I have raised 5, and I thought she could do with a little advice. Listen UP, Mrs. Edwards, because we tend to reap what we sow. Remember what you have done and said this day, for your little ones are not yet grown, and there are miles to go before you may sleep.

Things that would cause me to be ashamed of my children:
*mocking God
*denying the sanctity of life
*engaging in gossip
*suggesting embroyos should be farmed for research purposes
*lying for personal or political gain
*showing disloyalty to family or country
*making money on the suffering of other people
*being deliberately cruel to others, for any reason, but most especially in order to advance self
*putting self-interest above all else
*cheating of any kind; exhibiting an "ends justifies the means" mentality
*marrying for money or political expediency
*lacking integrity,integrity,integrity

Things that would not cause me to be ashamed of my children:
*sexual orientation

Kerry and Edwards engaged in what can only be described as gossip when they gratutiously *mentioned* Dick and Lynn Cheney's daughter's homosexuality during the debates. Gossip, in God's eyes, is as bad as (or wose) than commiting murder. Gossip is the attempt to murder a person's reputation. It is soul murder. For Kerry to then quote the bible, "Love thy neighbor..." is the utter height of hypocrisy. He sickens me.

I guess since children of the canditates are now "Fare Game" as per Mary Cahil then Bush/Cheney should come out with an ad using the picture of Kerry's daugher at the Cain Film Fetaval in here see through blouse. Lets see the Caption could read Family Values--Would you be proud of your dougher showing here hooters to the world, John Kerry is.

Elizabeth Edwards needs a good kick in her big backside!
Just shameful!!! This blatantly inappropriate mention of
Mary Cheney by both Edwards and Kerry will contribute to
their undoing! They should all be ashamed!

I believe Edwards and Kerry had the same reason to bring up Cheney's daughters sexuality. Edwards tried baiting Cheney with it during the VP debate but he failed to get the reaction he hoped for at the time or afterwards. Kerry went for it one last time during the last debate. I believe their intention was to get the Cheney's to criticize them for mentioning their daughters personal life so the Kerry campaign could put an ugly spin on it to hurt the Bush campaign. Elizabig Edwards said it was sad that the Cheney's are ashamed of their daughter...that was the opportunity they were trying to create.

I loved it when Kerry quoted from the Bible. I pretty much know the Bible inside and out and he got that quote wrong! He said he was taught the commandment, Love God with all your heart, soul, and BODY.' That is nowhere in the Bible. The Bible says, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and soul and MIND.

Kerry ought to try using his -- it would be such a novelty LOL! Laughing

Forgive the double post but I wanted to comment on Elizabeth Edwards' shameful comment separately. I could not believe she would say that. I have heard nothing but good about Mrs. Edwards (unlike her weasely husband) and I would imagine she is going to have a very hard time living with herself saying something she not only does not believe but knows she has absolutely no right to say.

When I heard Edwards make that personal reference to the Cheneys' daughter in the VP debate, I was floored at the gall of that man. What a slimy little devil he is. VP Cheney answered him with the utmost grace, thereby pointing out by contrast what a total jerk Edwards is.

And for Kerry to slip that in last night -- well it only adds to his multitude of sins, imo. I believe that we all must sooner or later face the wrong we have done to others and when that day comes for Kerry, either here or hereafter, well... he is going to have a LOT to answer for.
