Dick Morris is a smart guy, but not the know-it-all guru that some people think he is. In 2002 he predicted that the Democrats would hold the Senate and take over the House--in fact, the Republicans held the House and took over the Senate.
Several months ago, Morris suggested that Bush "declare victory and withdraw the troops from Iraq", and so what if Iraq was torn by a civil war, the media wouldn't care and Bush would be re-elected. It shouldn't surprise anyone that he now thinks Kerry will win, because that's exactly what Kerry would do!
Morris also thought, before the first debate, that Bush had "trapped" Kerry prior to the first debate, between alienating the doves and hawks in the Democrat party. Since Bush dropped the ball during that debate, Morris now thinks that Bush can't win a domestic policy debate. Of course, Kerry's blunder about Dick Cheney's daughter gave Bush a huge lift!
Both Rasmussen and Zogby have given Bush a 3%+ bounce since the third debate. Facts can be stubborn things, even for Dick Morris. _________________ The traitor will crater! |

Diane in IL: it's so weird how people are always telling me to stop mincing words and just come out and say how I feel! I try to be so straightforward! Well, I will work on it. (I blame most of my lack of tact on my Marine Corp daddy. Now there was a man would tell you what's what. I seem like a Paris diplomat compared to him.)
Anyway, I understand about the *panic*--we all have a lot invested in seeing Dubya back at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., and we are all understandably on edge; but I am telling you, Bush will win handily.
Hang in there. |

Dick is covering his tail. He came out after the last debate and said Bush lost it. He then said that Bush would probably lose the election. Now he sees the polls trending towards Bush so he's added in the unless something happens clause. When Bush wins he'll point to something (Fallujah offensive etc) and say he was right.
I'm ignoring him at this point in time. The guy is still a liberal on social issues and hasn't a clue about middle Americas feelings. _________________ Bill Hershey

Dick Morris wrote a very insightful and fascinating book called, "Re-Writing History" (about Hillary) and now has a new one out about Clinton called, "Because He Could," which I will also buy. I'll bet that it backs up what all the other Clinton critics have to say, just like the first one did.
But even so, I think he is a political slut - up for the highest bidder and supportive of whatever he thinks will get him the most brownie points or book sales.
I don't pay a lot of attention to what he says on talk shows, any more because I've noticed that what he says today may be quite different than what he said yesterday. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

He is wrong, wrong, and more wrong most of the time. Just because he writes books on his former boss and wife doesn't mean he understands GW. He has never had the privilege of working for a man with integrity. I am glad he is trying to undo the Clinton myth but that in itself does not make him an expert on our behalf. Keep the doom and gloom along with the day job. I am tired of so called supporters dumping on GW two plus weeks before the election. A divided house does not stand. I guess thats my soap box. |
Is there room for two on that soapbox?
Morris is wrong far more than he is right.
So doom n gloomers, eat, drink, be merry, campaign for Bush, and get your arse out there and vote! _________________ "And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often, than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry"
