In the vice presidential debate... John Edwards mentioned how proud he was to be a trial lawyer... and went on to tell a story about how he had represented little Suzie Q who was injured in a storm drain, yada yada yada. Tonight I was at a party with a judge and he said that when he heard Edwards drone on with that sob story he wished Cheney had asked him "And did you take a half or a third of Little Suzie's settlement?". I know it's a little late.. but wouldn't that have been great if Cheney had rebutted to that effect? Just a thought.

				| Maybe I missed it, but as I remember they were discussing large jury awards for medical malpractice suits, and then Edwards started going off on his story about this case. It seemed pointless, because I didn't get the payoff, i.e. how did this story support his point? Did I just zone out or something? |

I read somewhere recently that the norm for the attorney's cut in these personal injury suits is now near half, with 60% not uncommon.

So much for enough money to take care of "little Suzie's" special needs for the rest of her life, hm? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

				| Poor Suzie, she will be blessed if she has enough for her first quarter tuition fees during her first year of College. Brrrrrrrrrr........ people like Edwards are worthless to us. |
