What do you know about John Kerry? He says he has plans but what has he done? Kerry has spent 20 years in the Senate- can you name a single accomplishment? Anyone can claim to have ideas but a person’s record speaks far more loudly than their words, and Kerry has no record of accomplishment. But he does have a record- a record of working against the US.

Kerry twice met with Communist enemy leaders in Paris before the Vietnam conflict ended. This was a violation of military law and Kerry should have been court-martialed for it.

Kerry pushed for normalizing relations and lifting the trade embargo with Vietnam in 1993, quick to eliminate the POW/MIA issue. Why? Because Colliers, a company owned by Stewart Forbes, Kerry’s first cousin, was to receive a billion dollar contract with Vietnam to develop the harbor of Vung Tau. For the last 3 years Kerry has blocked the Vietnam Human Rights bill in the Senate after it passed overwhelmingly in the House. Why? Because the new law would hold up payments to his cousin’s company.

Kerry wants to supply Iran with nuclear fuel, even though Iran has a stated goal of making two nuclear bombs by January. Why? Iran is a big contributor to Kerry’s campaign. With all its oil, Iran needs nuclear fuel like it needs sand.

Kerry’s Vietnam medals were re-issued on June 4, 1985. Awards are re-issued only if they were taken away for some reason- and some allege it is because of a dishonorable discharge, which was later whitewashed. This makes sense as Kerry should have been discharged in 1972, but did not receive a discharge until 1978.

If John Kerry’s votes ruled, Saddam Hussein would still be in power, not just in Iraq, but in Kuwait and probably elsewhere as well.

In 1971 Kerry called all Vietnam Vets “war criminals,” even those held as POW’s, causing them to be tortured with Kerry’s own words. John McCain was one such POW. Kerry’s words are more responsible for Vietnam Vets being called baby-killers than anyone else’s. Kerry admitted to being a war criminal himself. Now he wants to do for Iraq what he helped do for Vietnam- lose the war.

John Kerry’s picture today hangs in the Hall of Heroes in the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. He is a hero to the Communist Vietnamese as someone who helped “defeat” the US in Vietnam.
Under John Kerry’s tax plan, Teresa Heinz Kerry, a billionaire, will not pay a penny more in taxes than she does now. That’s fair?

That is John Kerry’s record.

Here would be my post:

---------------------------
The Draft
---------------------------

Even though President Bush and Republicans have said numerous times that they would not support a draft:

Kerry and the Democrats continue to try to scare young voters into believing that Bush would re-enact a draft:
-http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-10-15-campaign-wrap_x.htm?csp=36

The truth is that it is Democrats who have created and supported bills to re-enact a draft:

The further truth is that it is Kerry who has proposed mandatory programs for America's youth. At one point, Kerry had details of his plan on his campaign website but it was later taken down (probably due to concerns from young voters). There are websites that archive old versions of other sites, so people can see Kerry's mandatory service plan:
-http://www.geocities.com/hatredsucks/johnkerry.html

--------------------------
The War in Iraq
--------------------------

After the resolution for war in Iraq was passed, a bill for $87 billion was created to fund the troops and effort in Iraq. Kerry tried to pass an amendment to the bill to change how it was paid for. Asked if he would vote against the $87 billion even if his amendment did not pass, Kerry said, "I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq to whatever follows as a result of simply cutting and running. That's irresponsible." Yet that is exactly what he did. The truth is that Kerry was one of only 12 Senators who voted against the funding. Later, Kerry tried to justify his actions saying, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it". Later, Kerry tried to justify that position saying, "I had one of those inarticulate moments late in the evening when I was dead tired in the primaries and I didn't say something very clearly." The truth is that he made the comment at 1:20pm in the afternoon.

--------------------------
Kerry's Vietnam Service
--------------------------

Kerry has claimed several times that he was illegally ordered to go into Cambodia. On the floor of the Senate, Kerry specifically said, "Mr. President, I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the President of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared -- seared -- in me". Kerry later admitted that he was never actually in Cambodia.

Kerry originally claimed that he got his first purple heart from "intense" enemy combat. His own journal said that his group had not faced enemy fire at that point. Kerry's campaign later said that Kerry "may" have gotten his first purple heart due to a self-inflicted wound not involving enemy fire.

Kerry used the "No Man Left Behind" theme at the Democratic National Convention to imply that his was the only boat to return for a man in the water. The truth is that several boats were traveling together, one was hit by a mine, and Kerry's boat was the only boat to leave the scene with men in the water. The other 3 boats all went immediately to help those in the boat that had been hit by a mine. Kerry's boat returned several minutes later to fish one person out of the water only seconds before he was to be rescued by others.

--------------------------
Kerry's post-Vietnam Activities
--------------------------

Kerry was the leader of a group called Vietnam Veterans Against the War, which was responsible for the "Winter Soldier Investigation". Kerry used that investigation as a basis to testify in front of Congress that "They told the stories [that] at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."
According to Steve Pitkin, Kerry coached him to admit to atrocities that never actually happened:
-http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0402220494feb22,0,6421278.story?coll=chi-news-hed

Kerry initially claimed that he was not at a VVAW Kansas City meeting in which a plot to assassinate elected US Senators was brought to a vote. Kerry's campaign later admitted that he was there after FBI documents and several witnesses listed him in attendance.

FBI files show that Kerry flew to Paris in 1970 to secretly meet North Vietnamese leaders while we were still at war with North Vietnam. US law forbids citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.

--------------------------
Kerry's Senate Record
--------------------------

Kerry claims that labels don't matter, but the truth is that Kerry was voted most liberal member of the Senate in 2003, 1990, 1988, and 1986 by the independent National Journal because of his record of votes in the Senate:

For the 8 years Kerry was on the Senate Intelligence Committee, he missed 76% of the public hearings. In the year after the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center Kerry was absent for every single one of them.

Kerry's salary in the Senate is $158,000. In 2003, Kerry missed 64% of the votes in the Senate. This year, he missed the first 22 Senate votes. According to federal law, some of his $158,000 salary should have been withheld due to absense; however, the Secretary of the Senate refused to enforce the law. In his 20 years in the Senate, Kerry has only had 11 measures signed into law, and those included fluff such as a save-the-dolphins law, a naming a federal building, a law giving an award to Jackie Robinson, and laws declaring "world population awareness weeks".

--------------------------
Taxes
--------------------------

According to the Kerry's tax records, the couple had a combined income of $6.8 million last year and only paid $725,000 in income taxes, which gives them an effective tax rate of 12.8%. The average federal tax rate for a middle-class family is more than 20%. George and Laura Bush, who had an income one-tenth of the Kerrys', paid a tax rate of 30%:
-http://www.clubforgrowth.org/blog/archives/014843.php

In a Presidential Debate Kerry promised that he would not raise taxes on anyone making less than $200,000, but the plan on his own website says that he would restore the top two tax brackets. The lower of these two top tax brackets applies to single people who earn $143,500 and married couples filing jointly who have a combined income of $174,700.
